Amakhosi are not done yet in the transfer market, and Mabedi believes that they need to reinforce their left-back position

Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Patrick Mabedi has confirmed that the club is looking to sign one more player before the transfer window closes in August.

According to the Malawian mentor, the technical team is pleased with the players that they have in all departments except the left-back position.

Amakhosi recently parted ways with Tsepo Masilela and Sibusiso Khumalo, and while they have already brought in Letlhogonolo Mirwa in addition to Philani Zulu and Siphosihle Ntiya-Ntiya, Mabedi feels the team is thin on the left-back position, and he confirmed this soon after Shell Helix Ultra Cup match against Mamelodi Sundowns that they are in the market for a left full-back.

“I think for now we’re happy with what we have. There’s only one position that we need to consider and we’re still busy looking into it, a left-back,” Mabedi told the media.

“For the rest of the positions, I think we’re sorted. It’s a matter of just giving the players time and then we’ll take it from there,” added the former Amakhosi skipper.

Goal reported on the weekend that Chiefs were closing in on Ajax Cape Town captain Mosa Lebusa.

While neither club has confirmed talks of a possible transfer, the Soweto giants appear to be in pole position to land Lebusa's signature.

Sundowns were also keen on Lebusa, but they appear unlikely to pursue the experienced player following the arrival of Lyle Lakay from Cape Town City

Perhaps, the Urban Warriors are still waiting to see if they will be campaigning in the PSL next season before making wholesale changes to their last season's squad.

They have filed an urgent application with the South Gauteng High Court to interdict the start of the 2018/19 season as they continue to contest their relegation to the National First Division.
