Jurgen Klopp wary of Iheanacho’s threat despite Vardy absence

Jurgen Klopp has warned that despite Jamie Vardy’s absence, Liverpool’s defence still face a test from Leicester City’s striker Kelechi Iheanacho.

Vardy, still serving his punishment for his offence against Fulham, is out of Saturday's clash at the King Power Stadium.

And Iheanacho, who opened his season account during the midweek, is likely to lead the lines for Claude Puel’s men.

“Jamie, what a player. He causes pretty much every team problems with his style of play, going in behind, on the shoulder. It’s difficult to defend, and makes him special, different to all the other strikers in the Premier League," Klopp said in a pre-match conference

“Now he will not play, that changes a few moments in a game for Leicester, but Iheanacho is a very good striker as well. They changed their style anyway.

“They’re a very good team, you see the work of Claude Puel paying off with Maddison, Gray, that offensive line, not a lot of teams in the Premier League have that.

“The preparation for the game was really interesting, because Leicester are playing good football. I think they are full of confidence after the last result which always helps. It will be difficult for us, but we are in a good moment as well. We go there and try everything to get the result we deserve. Maybe we can deserve a win, we have to be at our best.”
