The former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper reckons Siwelele have an upper hand over the Buccaneers when they meet on Sunday

Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper John Tlale believes the Buccaneers will eventually pull through following a poor start to the 2018/19 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.

However, with the Soweto giants heading to Free State to honour their fourth (PSL) fixture against Bloemfontein Celtic, he says Siwelele will win it.

The goalkeeper who launched his career at Phunya Sele Sele in 1992 and went on to join Mamelodi Sundowns, believes Steve Komphela is still a good coach but was unfortunate at Kaizer Chiefs.

Although, the former Pirates net minder told Goal on Saturday that the Sea Robbers were unfortunate against Bidvest Wits, he reckons Celtic have an upper hand on Sunday at home.

“Yeah I put my money on Celtic because they have fresh legs going into this one and have not played in a while,” Tlale told Goal.

“Celtic played their last match away and bagged a win whilst Pirates are playing their third game in seven days – that will take its toll on the team,” he reacted.

“I think against Wits, they were unfortunate to concede from a deflection and it can happen to any team, they will have to improve in their organisation,” said the Kroonstad-born legend.

“Unlike against Highlands Park, I don't know what happened to (Wayne) Sandilands and he has been so unfortunate, but they are a good team and I am sure they will lift up their heads and improve in their organisation against Celtic,” he continued.

Speaking about the former Amakhosi coach who has led Phunya Sele Sele to two PSL wins so far, the 51-year-old said Komphela is not under pressure to prove his worth.

“Komphela is not under pressure at all and has no point to prove to anyone or beat a big team like Pirates because he has always been a good coach,” he responded.

“I think he was just unfortunate at Chiefs and he is slowly building a great team at Celtic and they are motivated for this clash,” Tlale added.

“They can beat Pirates because they have fresh legs and there is no small team in the league now, they are also eager to meet Musa (Nyatama) who was their star in the past few seasons,”said the 51-year-old.

“Celtic have nothing to lose in my view and they are at home, Komphela is doing a great job and his boys are motivated, they are free to do anything on the field of play – no pressure at all,” concluded the former Bafana Bafana keeper.
