Jesse Were’s solo strike on Tuesday helped Zesco United open a four-point lead at the top of the Zambian Premier League.
Were hit the lone goal in the 22nd minute to hand Zesco a slim victory against Lusaka Dynamos.
The former Tusker striker was later pulled out of the game with three minutes left on the clock with Jackson Mwanza taking his place.
The victory saw Zesco United take their point tally to 48; four ahead of Green Buffaloes.
Zanaco are third with 38 points while Kabwe Warriors and Power Dynamos, who are chasing Kenyan players Eugene Asike and Elvis Rupia respectively, complete the top five in that order.
