The two sides fought their ways through to the grand finale of the biggest school competition in Nigeria and are set to go a step further on Friday

Owerri City College, Imo and Progress Comprehensive High School, Osun will take to the Onikan Stadium, Lagos to battle for the much-coveted Copa Coca-Cola trophy.

Both sides have come long way from the preliminaries at state levels to top of their respective regions before their journey to the national finals in Nigeria's busiest state.

In the national finals, Imo, alongside Government College, Katsina, got to the semifinals scaling through a tight Group B that had Kano and Rivers narrowly missing out. And later went on to pull the greatest upset of this season's Copa Coca-Cola by defeating top favourites, Fosla Academy, Abuja 4-3 on penalties after playing out a 2-2 draw in the last four.

Osun on the other hand, qualified from Group A alongside Abuja as Yobe and Kwara crashed out. They pulled a 1-0 victory over Katsina to set up a final with Imo.

Katsina and Abuja will have to do battle for a piece of the glory by taking part in the looser's final, also at the Onikan Stadium.

At the state level, all 110,000 participating teens got a Copa Coca-Cola bib and the winning team in all 36 States and the FCT will receive a trophy and makeover of a football pitch of their choice, worth over N5million in total.

At the national level, the top three teams (Imo, Osun and  winner of the third-place final) will receive medals.

Players in the top three teams will benefit from an education trust fund totaling N22million as well as cash prizes totaling N2million. There is also the golden boot for highest goal scorer, plaque for MVP, Golden gloves for best goal keeper and a trophy for the National winner.
