Hibernian boss Lennon tells Efe Ambrose to ‘stop nonsense’ after League Cup display

Hibernian manager Neil Lennon has urged Efe Ambrose to cut out mistakes from his game after his less impressive display in Sunday's League Cup match against Rose County.

The Nigeria defender put up a poor display in Hibs' 3-2 narrow victory over the Championship side with his error assisting Josh Mullin's leveller.

But Stevie Mallan rescued them, thus, securing their place in the quarter-final of the competition.

“We gifted them goals, Efe has to stop it. The second goal was a piece of nonsense, it was uncalled for and we had a bit of a wobble after that penalty,” Lennon told Hibernian Evening.

“The players have plenty of character, which is great. But it is almost as if we wake them up from a slumber.”

Efe has featured in nine games this season across all competitions helping the Hibs keep three clean sheets and capping it with two goals.
