Gor Mahia captain Haron Shakava has called on the club’s mismanagement to ‘play their role’ and ensure that the team Kenyan representatives adequately prepare for the forthcoming Caf Champions League assignment.

Gor Mahia are set to take on Nyasa Red Bullets in the Caf Champions League preliminary rounds, but the Kenyan champions are yet to kick off their preparation, barely three weeks before the first leg.

The skipper further added that players are ready to hit camp in preparation for the Caf Champions League assignment, but only if the ground is available.

"We are prepared to hit the ground running but we have not yet received any communication regarding the training venue. It is a fact we have not been paid, but there is nothing like a go-slow because we know they will pay us; we are already looking forward to the new season.

Gor Mahia are set to host Malawian Nyasa Big Bullets between November 27/28.
