Kerr took a three-week break to visit his family in United Kingdom for Christmas holiday after guiding Gor Mahia to the league title last season.

Kerr will have ample time to take a good look of new K’Ogalo's signings including former Sofapaka defender Wesley Onguso, Tusker midfielder Humphrey Mieno and Kakamega Homeboyz defender Charles Momanyi, all who signed three-year deal.

Apart from the continental assignment, Kerr will also be tasked with defending the Kenyan Premier League title they snatched from Tusker last season.
