Goal's Asian Player of the Week - India's Sunil Chhetri

India won their second Intercontinental Cup game on Monday when they outclassed Kenya 3-0 at the Mumbai Football Arena.

After winning the opening game of the tournament against Chinese Taipei earlier, India could almost seal their spot in the final with a win against Kenya and that is exactly what they proceeded to do.

Sunil Chhetri was the inspiration behind the win for the Blues with a brace on the night, with Jeje Lalpekhlua netting the other goal. Chhetri was appearing on his 100th game for India and marked the momentous occasion with a fine all-round performance.

Chhetri converted a penalty in the 68th minute after he was felled inside the box. In the dying moments of the game, Chhetri registered his second goal on the counter after he got in behind the sluggish Kenyan defence to lob the ball over a helpless goalkeeper.

Ultimately, his performances helped India net an important win and he is rightly named as Goal's Asian Player of the Week!

Congrats Sunil!
