EXTRA TIME: Liberia president-elect George Weah urges Didier Drogba to follow his path

The Chelsea legend who is gearing up for life after retirement from football has been encouraged to delve into the political world

Newly elected Liberia president George Weah has urged former Cote d’Ivoire international Didier Drogba to lead his country in politics.

Just like every African legend, Drogba took to social media to congratulate the 1995 Fifa World Player of the Year on his victory at the polls on Wednesday.

And the former Monaco and PSG player in his response, used the opportunity to advise the two-time African Footballer of the Year to serve his people.

“Thanks Didier for the support, we are both conscious and aware of the fate of our people. Follow the same path,” Weah tweeted.
