Harambee Starlets have been eliminated from the 2018 Awcon after falling 2-0 to Equatorial Guinea in the second leg of the final qualification round.

The David Ouma led side won the first leg 2-1 and they needed a draw to progress to the continental showdown to be held in Cameroon in November this year, but things did not go as planned.

Hopes of playing in the finals are now with the Confederations of African Football, Caf, after the FKF lodged a complaint regarding fielding of three 'ineligible' players.

In a letter signed by Federation's CEO Robert Muthomi and obtained by Goal, Kenya argued that Celestine Basecu and Annette Msomo nationalities are questionable, while another player in Luz Obono was not registered when Starlets played the West African side in the first leg.
