Chiamaka Madu: Enugu Rangers will do well in Confederation Cup

The Flying Antelopes midfielder has stressed that the 2018 Federation Cup champions won’t disappoint Nigerians in Africa

Enugu Rangers’ Chiamaka Madu has expressed his resolve that the Flying Antelopes will come out good in the opening round of their Caf Confederation Cup when the draws for the preliminary and first rounds of the competition are released in Morocco on Saturday.

Madu started the final of the 2018 Federation Cup where the Flying Antelopes miraculously came back from three goals down to still beat Kano Pillars on penalties in Asaba on October 24 and the win has guaranteed their spot in the Caf Confederation Cup as they are among the 68 teams that will begin the competition later this month.

The midfielder stated that they are determined to show the stuff they are made up against the team they are drawn against in the preliminary round and that ensuring that they get to the group stage is their primary target.

“We are aware the draws for the Caf Inter Club competitions will be made on Saturday in Morocco and we are waiting to know our opponents,” Madu told Goal.

“It was still a special feeling that we came back from three goals down and still emerged as the winner of the Federation Cup. We know that after that expectation will high for us to go and give a good account of ourselves. We are determined to make good use of this chance.”
