When the two sides faced each other in the first leg, none of them managed to hit the back of the net although the East African side had numerous chances to do that.

The North African side has not lost any match at home; they won 4-0 against Yanga SC, and managed to get a point in a one all draw against Rayon Sports.

Oussama Chita is suspended for USM Alger after accumulating two yellow cards, a blow for the entire team. After losing 2-1 at home against Rayon Sports, Gor Mahia needs at least a draw to stand a chance of making it to the quarters. They were unable to capitalize on the home soil in the first leg.

Goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch, who missed the match against Rayon, is back but Ephraim Guikan - who has so far scored two goals in the competition, is out. Francis Mustapha has made the cut same as Wesley Onguso, who replaces Wellington Ochieng.

At Nyamirambo, Kigali, Rwanda, Rayon Sports will take on Yanga, who surprised many after their 2-1 win against USM Alger at home.

The Rwandan side won by the same margin against Gor Mahia away in Nairobi. The hosts, who are on six points, will be aiming at getting maximum points, hoping either Gor Mahia or USM drop points.

Yanga will be without Juma Mahadhi, who is suspended, with the hosts also missing the services of about five players. Yannick Mukunzi, Christ Mbondi and Kassim Ndayisengaare are out following their ban by Caf. Thierry Manzi and Olivier Niyonzima are also banned following accumulation of two yellow cards.
