THE TITLE RACE

Bayern Munich are champions. They confirmed their fifth successive title with three games remaining by thrashing Wolfsburg 6-0 on a weekend in which both RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund dropped points.

EUROPEAN QUALIFICATION

In addition to Bayern, Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim have all sealed qualification for next season's Champions League.

Bayern and Leipzig will go straight into the group stage, while Dortmund and Hoffenheim are battling it out to join them. The team that finishes in fourth place will have to progress through a two-legged tie in the play-off round.

As far as the Europa League is concerned, nothing is decided. Freiburg and Hertha Berlin currently occupy the two league qualification places, but Koln, Werder Bremen, Borussia Monchengladbach, Schalke and Eintracht Frankfurt all remain in contention.

Frankfurt could also qualify by winning the DFB-Pokal final, but if Dortmund triumph in that match a third qualification place will be allocated to the Bundesliga as Thomas Tuchel's men are already in the Champions League.

RELEGATION

In Germany, two teams are automatically relegated and a third goes into a two-legged play-off against a team from the 2. Bundesliga, with the winner playing in the top flight the following season.

Darmstadt are already down, and Ingolstadt are facing an uphill struggle to avoid joining them. They are four points adrift of safety with two games to play but could still catch Hamburg, Mainz, Wolfsburg and Augsburg .

Hamburg currently occupy the relegation play-off spot, and in addition to the aforementioned teams Bayer Leverkusen could also be drawn into the fight to stay out of that tie.

Hamburg face Wolfsburg on the final day of the season, which could be a match with huge implications.
