Black Stars not stranded in Kenya ahead of Ethiopia clash, says Appiah

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has denied reports that the Black Stars couldn't hold a successful training session in Kenya on Wednesday ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia after several players were left stranded at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport upon arrival.

The Black Stars opened camping in the Eastern African country on Tuesday with ten players including captain Asamoah Gyan, the Ayew brothers and goalkeepers Richard Ofori and Lawrence Ati-Zigi.

Apart from Inter Milan star Kwadwo Asamoah, who has been ruled out of the game, Appiah had a full house on Wednesday as they continued fine tuning with 19 players.

“We have not been stranded in Kenya as reported by a section of the media. We are comfortably relaxing at our hotel," Appiah told Ghanasportsonline

"Everything regarding our camping is going on as planned. We were picked at the airport with a bus to our hotel on arrival and the rest of the players who came later after our arrival were successfully transported to the hotel,” he added.
The Black Stars are expected to depart Nairobi for Addis Ababa on Friday.
