Ghanaian champions Aduana Stars will be hoping to bounce back from their opening day defeat in the Caf Confederation Cup Group A when they welcome Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca to the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Wednesday.

Yussif Abubakar's men went down 1-0 against Asec Mimosas in Abidjan, leaving them at the foot of the table, while the visitors are on one point having struggled for cutting edge against AS Vita Club of Congo in a goalless draw.

Aduana’s defeat has brought coach Abubakar under intense criticisms from a section of the supporters who believe his tactics in away games need to be revised following his continuous failure on the road.

However, at home, they're always in a different spirit. They crushed Fosa Juniors of Madagascar 6-1 in their last game but the coach believes it would be different this time, considering the pedigree of their opponents, Raja.

"We need to maintain a good run in the competition, especially in our home games. The fans went home excited the last time we played in the competition here (Dormaa) and that is what we are looking to maintain although, I don't see a huge score line like that of Fosa Juniors," Abubakar told

"I mentioned that we had no business losing that game [against Asec] looking at the chances we managed to create. We have moved on and are fine-tuning our preparations for Raja, a game we know will be tough because they dropped points at home," he added.

Abubakar has almost an entirely fit squad to choose from after a midweek 3-2 victory over Liberty Professionals in the Ghana Premier League.

The guests, on the other hand, are expected to shuffle their squad to bring more defensive minded players as they seek to at least leave Ghana with a point and maintain their unbeaten run.

Whether Aduana end the game with a win, stalemate or defeat, they will become the first Brong Ahafo region-based side to host any Caf organised competition at this level.

Elsewhere in Congo, Vita Club will play Asec at Complex Onnisports Stade de Matrys in Kinshasa.
