Although the youngster was impressive the few times he got to play, his boss believes that he needs more experience to cope with English top-flight

Ademola Lookman does not have 'enough experience' to cope in the English Premier League, according to Everton manager, Sam Allardyce.

The forward put up an eye-catching display for the Toffees in their 2-1 loss to Liverpool in an FA Cup tie after coming on for Wayne Rooney.

He also bagged a brace in Everton’s dead rubber Europa League encounter against Apollon Limassol in Cyprus.

Despite impressing, the winger has only started one Premier League game this season against Crystal Palace and is yet to get a look in this year.

And the former England manager is of the opinion that the 20-year-old must gain more experience to be able to withstand the tedious nature of the top-flight.

“Of course, we’ve also got Dom (Dominic Calvert-Lewin) and Ademola but they’re at the younger end and it’s hard for those lads to play every week at this level until they gain enough experience,” Allardyce was quoted as saying by Liverpool Echo.

Ademola will face more competition for first-team action following the arrival of Theo Walcott to the Goodison Park from Arsenal.
