Asante Kotoko defender Ahmed Adams has denied rejecting a new deal from the club.

Reports in the local media last week claimed that the 24-year-old, whose contract will expire in few weeks, failed to appear before the club's management to negotiate a two-year extension with an improved pay package.

“It is not true that I failed to meet the management of the club. I have also not rejected any contract extension talks. Nothing like that has happened between me and Kotoko," Adams told ATL FM.

“The truth of the matter is that the club's leadership are yet to open negotiations with me or my agent. Nothing about my future has been discussed so far and my contract is almost over so I’m only waiting for them to take their own decision.

“Whenever they bring forward any deal, I'm ready to sit down with them. Everyone close to me knows that I love the club and won't try anything to destabilise our winning streak in the Ghana Premier League. I'm willing to be here if the new deal is good for me,’’ he added.

Adams has played every single minute of Kotoko's five games of the new season.
