Tottenham are next in action in the Europa League on Thursday at home to Ludogorets Razgrad. City play in the Champions League against Olympiacos on the road on Wednesday.
Tottenham put down a statement in the Premier League title race by defeating Manchester City 2-0 to move to the top of the table. Son Heung-min opened the scoring in the first half with a composed finish. Giovani Lo Celso made sure of the three points 35 seconds after arriving as a subsitute in the second half, beating Ederson with a left-footed strike. Jose Mourinho's men leapfrog Chelsea at the summit, while City endure their worst start to the campaign under Pep Guardiola's tenure.

The visitors saw an equaliser disallowed by VAR as Gabriel Jesus handled the ball in the build-up to an Aymeric Laporte effort. It has been a frustrating 45 minutes for Pep Guardiola and his team.

City have made one change to their side from their draw against Liverpool last time out. Sterling is not fully fit after suffering from a calf problem and is replaced by Mahrez. Aguero returns to the bench for Guardiola's men after overcoming a hamstring injury.
Mourinho has made two changes to his side that beat West Brom last time out. Bale drops to the bench and is replaced by Bergwijn in the final third. Aurier starts at right-back in place of Matt Doherty, who tested positive for Covid-19 during the week.

City have endured a slow start to the season by their incredibly high standards. They showed their mettle in a 1-1 draw against Liverpool in their last outing, although Kevin De Bruyne's missed penalty loomed large. Pep Guardiola's men have lost only once in the league this term and will be out to prove a point against Spurs this evening.
Tottenham face a test of their Premier League title credentials this evening. Before the international break, Jose Mourinho's men were sitting in second place after reeling off three wins on the bounce, including a 1-0 victory over West Brom last time out.
