Golden Arrows beat SuperSport United 3-1, AmaZulu and Maritzburg United both lost 1-0, to TS Galaxy and Cape Town City respectively, while Moroka Swallows FC recorded a 1-0 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic in Wednesday's Premier Soccer League action.
Swallows' victory over Celtic at the Dobsonville Stadium was their first in the top flight in five seasons, following their relegation at the end of the 2014/15 campaign.
In a tight match against Phunya Sele Sele, the only goal of the night came eight minutes before the end of the game as Celtic defender Ronald Pfumbidzai put the ball into his own net.
The result leaves coach Brandon Truter's Birds side unbeaten after two matches following their 1-1 draw with Stellenbosch FC on the opening day.
The big winners on Wednesday night were Golden Arrows, after they put three goals past Matsatsantsa at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
Arrows took a two-goal lead after Matome Mathiane and substitute Velemseni Ndwandwe struck in the 38th and 69th minute respectively. Teboho Mokoena pulled one back for SuperSport in the 87th minute, but any hopes of a comeback were ended when Ntsako Makhubela netted for the Abafana bes'Thende in the 92nd minute.
The two KwaZulu-Natal sides did however not fare as well as Arrows.
Maritzburg United recorded a second consecutive defeat of the season with a 1-0 home loss against Cape Town City, for whom Mduduzi Mdantsane netted his second goal of the campaign. It was a first win of the season for the team from the Western Cape, following a 1-0 defeat by Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 quarter-finals, and a 1-1 draw with Chippa United in their first league match of 2020/21.
Big spending AmaZulu meanwhile went down 1-0 to PSL rookies TS Galaxy. Wayde Lekay scored the game's only goal in the 27th minute.
Usuthu have transformed their squad under new owner Sandile Zungu and have made some high profile signings including former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala, although Shabba was not included in the squad at all against Galaxy.
