Commentary

That's all for today, goodbye!
Bayern are now six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga after Dortmund's draw today, and they've won their last five in all competitions. They have Stuttgart next on Tuesday. Mainz drop to eighth in the table, and they'll be hoping to bounce back against Hertha Berlin.
Bayern came from behind in the second half to beat Mainz 2-1. The visitors led at the break after a bright first half, and Onisiwo's header gave them the advantage. Bayern were a much-improved side in the second half though, creating a lot more going forward. Coman equalised, drilling his shot through Zentner's legs, before Musiala slotted home the winner with a cool finish from the edge of the box.
90' + 5' FULL-TIME: BAYERN MUNICH 2-1 MAINZ.
90' + 3' Still, Mainz push for a late equaliser and Martin has so much space down the left. He clips a deep cross into the box, but it's too high for Ingvartsen at the far post and it bounces away.
K. Stöger
Yellow Card
Mainz 05
90' + 1' Stoger ignores the referee's instructions about taking a quick free-kick and has his name taken for it.
A. Hack
Yellow Card
Mainz 05
89' It's not a great challenge from Hack as he slides in on Kouassi. He takes him out with a trailing leg and picks up a yellow card.
88' Niakhate hurt himself as he slid in on Coman. He doesn't need treatment, but he's moving gingerly and his team-mates are trying to get the ball upfield as quickly as possible.
86' Tauer intercepts Muller's pass and tries to hook it over the top towards Ingvartsen to set Mainz on the counter. He slices it up into the air though, and Bayern get it straight back.
84' Coman spins away from Widmer on the right and then gets lucky as Niakhate's challenge comes straight back to him. He cuts inside, but after a brilliant run, he can't find space for a shot.
T. Nianzou
J. Musiala
Bayern München
82' Bayern are making a change as well. Musiala, who gave the hosts the lead, goes off for Nianzou.
K. Stöger
A. Stach
Mainz 05
82' And Stach is also taken off and replaced by Stoger.
N. Tauer
L. Barreiro
Mainz 05
82' Final rolls of the dice here for Mainz. Barreiro is the first to go off, with Tauer on for him.
81' It's better from the visitors now as they search for a late equaliser. It's spread out to Widmer on the right, and he curls a good cross into the box. It's flicked on by Sule at the near post and out for a corner.
79' CHANCE! It's a great counter-attack from Mainz, with Boetius starting it off. He switches it out to Barreiro, who then slides it through to Ingvartsen. He's forced slightly wide, but still takes a shot and ends up dragging it well wide of the far post.
77' Bayern look confident in possession now and they're happy to just knock it around in midfield. Mainz are chasing them down, but they can't get anywhere near the ball at the moment.
P. Nebel
K. Onisiwo
Mainz 05
75' Another change for Mainz now as Onisiwo is taken off and replaced by Nebel.
B. Pavard
Assist
Bayern München
74' Pavard debated whipping another cross into the crowded box but chose the right option by teeing up Musiala instead.
J. Musiala
Goal
Bayern München
74' MUSIALA SCORES! Gnabry's cross is too deep, but Pavard recycles it by picking out Musiala. On the edge of the box, he skips past Barreiro to get into space. He drills his low shot across goal, and Zentner can't get down in time to keep it out. 2-1 Bayern!
73' Pavard's cross is half-cleared out to Davies by Bell and he cuts inside before trying to tee up Muller. Gnabry takes it off him though and ends up tripping over the ball and Mainz get it away.
71' Lewandowski is the only Bayern player in the box, but Pavard does well to pick him out with a great curling cross. The forward tries to flick it around Hack, but can't make contact and Zentner collects.
69' It's almost too intricate from Bayern on the edge of the box as it goes through Muller, Lewandowski, Coman and Gnabry, who tries to lift it back into Muller. He could've taken a shot on himself, but instead, Mainz have possession back.
67' Mainz are struggling to get out of their own half here as Bayern take control of the game. Widmer pushes forward down the right but ends up running straight into Davies.
Marc Roca
C. Tolisso
Bayern München
65' And Tolisso is replaced by Roca in the other Bayern change.
N. Süle
L. Hernández
Bayern München
65' Sule is on for Hernandez in defence.
S. Gnabry
L. Sané
Bayern München
65' Nagelsmann is making a triple change as well. Sane is the first to go off, with Gnabry replacing him.
J. Boëtius
Lee Jae-Sung
Mainz 05
64' And Lee is also taken off, with Boetius on for him.
M. Ingvartsen
J. Burkardt
Mainz 05
64' There's a double change for Mainz here. Burkardt, who's struggled to have an impact in the second half, makes way for Ingvartsen.
63' Onisiwo knocks it through to Lee, before the forward tries to wrestle his way past Upamecano to get on the end of the return pass. He goes to ground, but the referee tells him to get back to his feet.
61' CLOSE! Coman has switched out to the left and he makes a darting run which none of the defenders can keep up with. He's alone, so when he cuts inside he goes for goal but fires just over the bar.
A. Stach
Yellow Card
Mainz 05
59' Stach clips the back of Muller's heels as he tries to get back. It looked more accidental than anything else, but he's shown a yellow card.
58' Sane has a go with a long-range shot which Zentner parries away and on the next attack, it's Coman's turn. He drills a low shot on goal, but a deflection off Bell takes it safely back to the keeper.
L. Hernández
Yellow Card
Bayern München
56' Hernandez gets turned around by Onisiwo and the defender ends up dragging him to the floor. He's booked for the challenge.
55' Bayern look more like their usual selves now as they confidently knock it around in midfield. Pavard moves it into Muller, who picks out Davies run into the box, but his first touch gifts it back to Mainz.
C. Tolisso
Assist
Bayern München
53' Tolisso has so much time on the ball, and he gets his head up to spot Coman's movement in behind Martin and picks him out.
K. Coman
Goal
Bayern München
53' COMAN EQUALISES! It's a long, direct ball over the top from Tolisso, and Coman times his run to stay onside. He brings it down with a brilliant first touch before taking it into the box. Zentner rushes out, but the Frenchman fires his shot through the keeper's legs and into the bottom corner. 1-1!
52' Hernandez knocks the ball back to Neuer, and he slices his pass out to Upamecano. Onisiwo is closing him down quickly and he just manages to play himself out of trouble in time.
50' It's another good move from Bayern, with Davies driving down the left. He curls a good cross in, which Coman thumps towards goal, but his header is also held by the keeper.
48' There's a tussle between Lewandowski and Hack which ends with the forward on the floor. Muller lifts the resulting free-kick into the middle, but Lewandowski's glancing header is straight at Zentner.
46' Bayern get us back underway for the second half!
Nagelsmann did not look happy on the sidelines during that first half; they've looked tired and out of ideas at times. He'll be hoping for a big reaction, so they can extend their lead at the top of the table. Svensson, on the other hand, will be very pleased with their performance, but won't be comfortable with just a 1-0 lead over the current champions.
Onisiwo's header gives Mainz a 1-0 lead over Bayern at half-time. The visitors made a bright start to the game and took the lead in the 22nd minute when Burkardt lifted a cross into Onisiwo and he nodded it past Neuer. Bayern took a long time to get going but had a couple of good chances. Pavard saw a shot pushed away by the keeper before Zentner tipped Muller's shot over the bar with his fingertips.
45' + 4' HALF-TIME: BAYERN MUNICH 0-1 MAINZ.
45' + 3' Bayern have a late chance to test Zentner in the first half through a free-kick, which Sane steps up to take through the middle. It's a poor attempt from him though as he fires it straight against the wall.
45' + 1' CLOSE! The initial corner for Mainz is cleared by Pavard in the middle of the box, but it falls kindly for Stach on the edge of the box. He tries to lob it over Neuer and into the top corner, but it flies just wide of the post.
44' CHANCE! Lewandowski squares it to Muller, who tries to pick out the forward with a return pass. Zentner is quickly off his line to push it away just in front of him, and Coman's follow-up strike is blocked by Bell.
42' Muller's throughball is cut out this time and Stach plays it over the top for Onisiwo to set off the counter. He times his run to stay onside, but can't find a way past Upamecano, who is tight to him.
40' Widmer is forward down the right again and he drags it back for Lee on the edge of the box. He scuffs his shot into Barreiro, who also doesn't make an assured contact, as he slices it wide.
38' Burkardt is causing all sorts of problems and is down again, this time from Upamecano's challenge. The free-kick is whipped in, with Niakhate flicking on a header and a deflection off Hernandez takes it wide.
L. Sané
Yellow Card
Bayern München
36' Sane's frustration is starting to show as he clatters Burkardt from behind. He kicks the ball out of play after the free-kick is given, and he's booked for dissent.
34' It's worked down the left by Bayern this time, with Davies making another good run forward from left-back. He tries to thread it through to Sane, but he's caught on his heels, and Bell clears his lines.
32' GOOD SAVE! It's better from Bayern now as Davies loops a cross to Lewandowski at the far post. He cushions a header down to Muller, who does well to rearrange his feet quickly and fire the shot at goal. Zentner tips it over the bar with his fingertips.
31' Musiala wins the ball back inside his own box and he dances away from three challenges before driving upfield. He touches it out to Sane, who in turn tries to pick out Muller, but Niakhate steps in to break up the attack.
29' Bayern have looked shaky since the first whistle, and they're lacking their usual flow as they move it around the pitch. Muller lays it off to Lewandowski, but he can't find a way past Stach.
J. Musiala
Yellow Card
Bayern München
27' Musiala steps across the back of Burkardt and clips the forward in his attempts to win the ball. The free-kick is given and he's shown the first yellow card of the game.
26' It's lovely from Mainz as they split open Bayern's midfield before spreading it out to Widmer on the right. He tries to fizz it into Burkardt, but Upamecano steps in for the hosts.
24' Mainz aren't happy as they think they should have a free-kick just outside the box for Pavard's shove on Onisiwo. It's not given, and the frustration boils over as Barreiro slides in on Tolisso.
J. Burkardt
Assist
Mainz 05
22' Burkardt has Hernandez tight to his back, and does well to knock it away from the defender before picking out Onisiwo.
K. Onisiwo
Goal
Mainz 05
22' ONISIWO SCORES! Martin's persistence down the left keeps the chance alive for Mainz, and he squares in Burkardt, who does well to get away from Hernandez. He lifts it into Onisiwo in the middle, and he's left with a simple header into the back of the net. 1-0 Mainz!
20' Lee goes to ground in the box under pressure from Upamecano and is asking for a penalty. There doesn't look to be a lot of contact from the defender, but VAR has a quick look at the incident, and like the referee, they saw nothing wrong with the challenge.
18' Widmer runs into Musiala on the edge of the box, but Mainz win it straight back, and the wing-back finds space on the right. He pulls it back for Lee on the edge of the box, but his shot is blocked by Hernandez.
16' Coman is pushed over by Martin to win a free-kick on the right. He swings it into the box himself and Upamecano can't get the contact he needs to flick it towards goal.
14' Muller is asking for a free-kick that's not given while Mainz go direct with a long throughball. Lee is looking for Onisiwo this time, but he can't bring it under control on the stretch, and Neuer collects.
12' Lee blocks off Tolisso's run through the middle and turns to try and slide in Burkardt through the middle. He's away from Upamecano, but Pavard steps in to intercept it.
10' CLOSE! Muller tees up Pavard on the edge of the box and he drills a good effort towards the near post. Zentner pushes it away as far as Davies, who dummies a shot to lose Bell before trying to nestle it in the bottom corner. Barreiro steps across though to send it just wide.
9' Coman takes a corner short to Sane, and he waits for Musiala's late run before squaring it into the box. The midfielder gets it caught under his feet though and can't find a way past Hack.
7' CHANCE! Lewandowski is down, but the referee plays the advantage as it's swept out to Pavard on the right. He clips a cross into the near post, but Davies can only lift it over from close range.
5' Mainz have made a bright start to the game and are trying to snatch an early goal here. Barreiro finds a pocket of space on the edge of the box, but his shot rolls tamely into Neuer's gloves.
4' Bayern are keeping the ball now and Coman spins away from Martin down the right. The Mainz defenders flood back into their own box though and he can't pick out a team-mate.
2' Onisiwo does brilliantly to hold off Upamecano even as he slips and keep the attack alive for Mainz. He flicks it into Martin, who is making the overlapping run, but his deep cross is over everyone in the middle.
1' Burkardt gets the game underway for Mainz!
The teams are out on the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away!
Bayern have failed to score in just one of their 30 Bundesliga matches against Mainz (0-0 in April 2012). They've netted a total of 85 goals against Mainz - more than against any other team they've faced at least 10 times in the top-flight.
Bo Svensson was clearly impressed with his side's performance in the win over Wolfsburg last time out, so he names the same starting line-up again today.
Julian Nagelsmann makes just one change from the win over Barcelona on Wednesday. Hernandez comes back into the side after being rested in that match, with Sule dropping to the bench. There's also good news for Bayern, with Gnabry and Cuisance also named among the substitutes after returning from injury.
MAINZ SUBS: David Nemeth, Paul Nebel, Jean-Paul Boetius, Daniel Brosinski, Finn Dahmen, Marcus Ingvartsen, Matondo-Merveille Papela, Kevin Stoger.
MAINZ STARTING XI (3-5-2): Robin Zentner; Stefan Bell, Alexander Hack, Moussa Niakhate; Silvan Widmer, Leandro Barreiro Martins, Anton Stach, Jae-Sung Lee, Aaron Martin; Karim Onisiwo, Jonathan Burkardt.
BAYERN MUNICH SUBS: Marc Roca, Sven Ulreich, Malik Tillman, Omar Richards, Bouna Sarr, Niklas Sule, Tanguy Kouassi, Serge Gnabry, Michael Cuisance.
BAYERN MUNICH STARTING XI (4-2-3-1): Manuel Neuer; Benjamin Pavard, Dayot Upamecano, Lucas Hernandez, Alphonso Davies; Jamal Musiala, Corentin Tolisso; Kingsley Coman, Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane; Robert Lewandowski.
Bayern are looking to extend their lead at the top of the table with another win here today. They've won each of their last four games in all competitions since losing to Augsburg in the league, including coming from behind to beat rivals Borussia Dortmund last time out in the Bundesliga. Mainz have lost just one of their last seven outings in all competitions (W4 D2), though that came in their last away game when they were beaten 2-1 by Stuttgart.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Bundesliga meeting between Bayern Munich and Mainz at the Allianz Arena!
