Commentary

That's all from us today folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!
Northern Ireland could now be looking at relegation from Group B, as they have just one point with one game remaining, against Romania on Wednesday. Meanwhile Austria are top on 12 points and they will face Norway in midweek in their final game.
Austria clinch a 2-1 victory over Northern Ireland, following late goals from Schaub and Grbic, after Magennis had put the visitors ahead. It was goalless at the break, with Austria dominating but Northern Ireland went ahead after 74 minutes, when Magennis beat the offside trap and fired the ball into the back of the net. However, the lead didn't last long as Schaub scored just seven minutes later, before Grbic nicked the winner with three minutes of normal time left on the clock.
90' + 5' FULL-TIME: AUSTRIA 2-1 NORTHERN IRELAND
M. Sabitzer
Yellow Card
90' + 4' Sabitzer is booked late on for a late and high challenge on Magennis and the striker is lucky to not be sent off for that one.
90' + 2' Austria look happy to allow their opponents the ball in the middle of the pitch now, just seeing the game out by taking their time with set pieces and throw ins.
90' There will be a minimum of five minutes added time played at the end of the game.
89' There's just a few minutes left to play now, can Northern Ireland go on the attack and get a late equaliser? Or, will Austria now be able to see the game out?
M. Arnautović
Assist
87' Arnautovic provides a moment of quality for Austria, with a wonderful ball through the Northern Ireland defence, straight into the path of Grbic.
A. Grbić
Goal
87' GOOOAAALLL! Austria take the lead, it's 2-1! Grbic fires the hosts ahead late on, finishing off a lovely move. Arnautovic picked the ball up down the right wing, cut inside and then picked out Grbic in-behind and Cathcart tried to play him offside, but to no avail and the striker fired it into the back of the net, giving McGovern no chance.
85' Austria have only failed to win three of their last 14 internationals (W11 D1 L2), while they’ve won each of the last four games in this run.
S. Davis
A. McCann
83' The other change sees McCann come off and he has been replaced by Davis.
C. Cathcart
D. Ballard
83' Northern Ireland make a double substitution, with Ballard coming off and he has been replaced by Cathcart.
A. Grbić
Assist
81' Grbic gets up high and flicks the ball on to Schaub, who looked to be in an offside position, but nothing is given and the goal is allowed to stand.
L. Schaub
Goal
81' GOOOAAALLL! Austria have equalised, it's 1-1! Schaub with the scrappy goal to get the hosts back into the game late on. Grbic flicked a cross on as the Northern Ireland defence failed to deal with it and Schaub snuck in behind and poked it home from close range.
M. McGovern
Yellow Card
79' Yellow Card Michael McGovern
A. Grbić
A. Ulmer
78' The other Austria change sees Ulmer replaced by Grbic.
L. Schaub
J. Baumgartlinger
78' Double substitution now by Austria, with Baumgartlinger the first man to come off and he has been replaced by Schaub.
76' Can Austria respond and get an equaliser late on? Everyone apart from Magennis seemed to stand still as the ball came through to the striker from McNair, but the linesman allowed play to continue and he made no mistakes with the finish.
P. McNair
Assist
74' The visitors work the ball well and McNair finds space on the edge of the box and Magennis initially wanted the ball earlier and looked to be in an offside position, but he was well onside.
J. Magennis
Goal
74' GOOOAAALLL! Northern Ireland take the lead, it's 1-0! It's a strange goal as the Austria defence just seem to stop as they think Magennis is offside, after he is fed through by McNair following a lovely passing move. The striker then takes his time to pick his spot and slides the ball into the back of the net.
73' Arnautovic hasn't been able to get involved much so far since coming on for Austria, with the Northern Ireland defence doing very well to limit his time on the ball.
71' The visitors can't get out of their own half at the moment, there seem to be a few tired players out there on the pitch and are unable to string more than a couple of passes together.
69' Just over 20 minutes remaining here now and it remains goalless between Austria and Northern Ireland, but it is the hosts dominating the game and knocking on the door.
67' CHANCE! Baumgartlinger manages to get away from Whyte in the penalty area as Alaba whips a corner into the penalty area and he powers a header towards goal, but it is too close to McGovern, who makes a good save. Either side of the keeper and that would've been troubling him.
65' Arnautovic scored the only goal the last time Northern Ireland faced Austria in Vienna in 2018. Can he make the difference here?
63' ALMOST! Great save to deny Ranftl's header after the Austrian sneaked in-behind Lewis and McGovern made a superb diving save, before Schlager fired it into the back of the net from close range. However, it is ruled out after Ranftl was offside as the cross came into the penalty area.
M. Arnautović
M. Gregoritsch
63' Austria also make a substitution, with Gregoritsch the man coming off and he has been replaced by Arnautovic.
G. Whyte
L. Boyce
62' The other change sees Boyce replaced by Whyte.
J. Magennis
C. Washington
62' Double Northern Ireland substitution now, with Washington the first coming off and he has been replaced by Magennis.
61' Northern Ireland are pressing really well all over the pitch, with Boyce and Washington starting from the attack, trying to get the visitors out of their own half for a period.
59' It will be interesting to see how long Austria leave it before making some more changes, as they are struggling to create anything in the final third.
57' Austria are once again the side dominating possession, keeping it well in midfield and making Northern Ireland sit deep and soak up the pressure. However, they look comfortable at the moment, with McGovern still yet to make a save.
55' The medical staff are on the pitch again after a clash of heads between Hinteregger and McNair and the pair go down with head injuries, after the Austria centre-back caught McNair late. Thankfully neither looks serious.
53' Another stoppage in play due to an injury, with Flanagan down and receiving some medical treatment after he stretches for the ball to deny Ranftl. However, it looks like he will be fine to continue.
51' Decent effort! Sabitzer manages to find some time and space on the edge of the Northern Ireland penalty area, but his strike is wild and flies high over the crossbar.
50' Austria have kept two clean sheets in their previous three Nations League games against Northern Ireland (one goal conceded) – indeed, they have only faced four shots on target from the opposition across these three games.
48' Early free-kick opportunity here for Northern Ireland, which McNair whips into the box from the right wing. It takes a deflection at the near post and falls to Boyce in the middle of the goal, but it comes to him really quickly and he can't adjust his feet in time and Austria clear the danger.
46' The second half is under way!
R. Ranftl
A. Dragović
46' Austria have made a substitution ahead of the second half, with Dragovic coming off and he hsa been replaced by Ranftl.
Austria may need to make a few changes after the break to carve open some opportunities here, with Northern Ireland putting in a strong performance after their play-off defeat in midweek.
It's goalless at the break between Austria and Northern Ireland, with the hosts struggling to break through their opponents resilient defence. Northern Ireland had the best chance of the game early on, when Boyce went close after breaking in-behind and drilling a shot just wide of the post. Austria have seen more of the ball, with the visitors sitting deep for large periods, but they have been unable to test McGovern in goal so far.
45' + 4' HALF-TIME: AUSTRIA 0-0 NORTHERN IRELAND
45' + 2' Austria are pushing forward in search of the opening goal ahead of the break, but neither keeper has had much to do so far and it looks like it will stay goalless.
45' There will be a minimum of four minutes added time played at the end of the first half.
43' Not too far away! Gregoritsch meets a corner into the box at the near post and powers a header towards the Northern Ireland goal, but his effort flies just over the crossbar.
42' Austria have won each of their last four meetings with Northern Ireland, with the most recent three in this run all coming in the Nations League.
40' There's not long left to play before the end of the first half now, can either side break the deadlock before the half-time whistle?
38' McNair delivers a deep free-kick into the Austria penalty area, which Flanagan manages to get on the end of, but his header is comfortable for Pervan.
J. Lewis
S. Ferguson
36' Here is the enforced Northern Ireland substitution, with Ferguson having to come off with an injury and he has been replaced by Lewis.
35' Another Austria corner now as Gregoritsch sees his cross blocked by Flanagan. They take the set piece short, but the ball into the box is well gathered by McGovern.
33' Another stoppage in play now as McLaughlin and Ilsanker clash heads in the penalty area, but both players look fine to continue once they have received some treatment.
32' We're past the half an hour mark here in Vienna and it remains goalless between Austria and Northern Ireland, with the visitors having the best chance of the game so far, after Boyce went close early on.
30' Big problem here as Ferguson is down with an injury for Northern Ireland, despite there being no contact from an Austrian player and the wing-back kicks the ball out of play so he can receive some treatment and it doesn't look good for him.
29' It looks like Northern Ireland are going to try and break forward on the counter and catch Austria out that way at the back, as they aren't seeing much of the ball in midfield. However, with Boyce and Washington playing so deep, it's very difficult for them to mount an attack.
27' Northern Ireland last won away at Austria in October 1994 (2-1 in a EURO qualifier), having lost each of their two trips there since – 0-2 in 2005 and most recently 0-1 in 2018.
L. Boyce
Yellow Card
25' Boyce is the first Northern Ireland player to be booked after catching Ulmer late on the ankle as the pair battled for a loose ball.
24' The visitors are having to do a lot of defensive work at the moment, with Boyce and Washington sitting deep inside their own half, but they are coping well and look comfortable at the back, with Austria yet to carve out an opportunity.
22' Northern Ireland look like they are dropping into a five man defence at times when Austria get on the ball, with Ferguson and Dallas playing as wing-backs.
20' Austria are just starting to edge the possession charts at the moment, they are keeping it well in midfield and Northern Ireland are sitting deep soaking up the pressure, with everyone back behind the ball.
18' Decent effort! Schlager with a powerful strike from the edge of the penalty area following an Austria corner, however, his effort flies his over McGovern's goal.
16' Penalty shout! Sabitzer goes down after McCann just seems to catch the boot of the Austrian striker as the pair both challenged for the ball in the penalty area. There are a few appeals from Austria, but nothing is given.
15' Northern Ireland come into this game on the back of three consecutive defeats across all competitions – they last lost four in a row back in June 2012 (a run of six).
13' Blocked! Smith gives the ball away right on the edge of the penalty area and hands it straight back to Austria, with Alaba picking it up and firing an effort towards goal. However, Ballard gets across well and makes a very good block, to send it out of play for a corner.
11' Slight concern for Northern Ireland now as Boyce is down receiving some medical treatment after the challenge from Dragovic, however, it looks like he will be fine to continue.
A. Dragović
Yellow Card
10' The first yellow card of the game is shown early on to Dragovic, after he dives in and catches Boyce late after the striker flicked the ball past him. No complaints from the visitors.
8' CLOSE! What a chance for Northern Ireland to open the scoring! Boyce drives through the Austria defence, gets in-behind and could square the ball to Washington in the middle of the box, but instead he opts to shoot at goal himself. However, he drags his effort just wide of the left-hand post. His team-mate looks furious with him.
6' Both teams are battling for the ball at the moment, neither side has been able to get hold of possession and control it in the early stages of the game.
4' Good work! Excellent closing down there from Boyce, chasing down Pervan and makes him fire the ball out of play under pressure, rather than being able to play it out from the back.
2' Good counter! Washington manages to break free and catches Austria out on the counter-attack, but he can't find Boyce to his right and instead plays it back to Ferguson to his left, but his cross is well cleared.
1' We're under way!
The teams are out on the pitch and kick-off is just a few minutes away, stay tuned for all of the match action!
Northern Ireland have also made a vast amount of changes to their team, with only Dallas, McNair and Washington keeping their place, with Dallas captaining the team today. McGovern comes into goal, replacing Peacock-Farrell and the likes of Evans, Cathcart and Davis also dropping to the bench.
Austria have made nine changes to the side that beat Luxembourg, with only Pervan and Hinteregger keeping their places in the starting XI. Arnautovic comes onto the bench after being a late addition to the Austria squad, flying in from China.
