UEFA Champions League
UEFA Europa League

Southampton miss the chance to rise into the top-half of the table and a single point may not be enough to keep them above the relegation tussle, particularly with the matches they have on the horizon. The Saints host Arsenal next weekend, then playing Leicester, Chelsea, Huddersfield, Tottenham and Manchester United before the New Year.
Bournemouth move five points off the relegation zone and now face a crucial test next week against fellow strugglers Crystal Palace. They did show decent flashes but they didn't quite click in the attacking third, which ultimately proved to be their downfall.
FULL-TIME! The points are shared in the South Coast derby as Charlie Austin's effort in the second-half cancels out Ryan Fraser's opening goal. Both teams had opportunities to take all three points and they may well look back at certain stages of the match with regret.
90' + 3' The least said about that corner the better, as it went out of play before entering the box. That should be that!
B. Afobe
R. Fraser
90' + 2' Bournemouth make their last change, with Afobe replacing Fraser, and the Cherries have a late corner.
90' Three minutes added on, it looks like the points will be shared!
88' CHANCE! Bournemouth continue to push for a winner as the ball is cut back to Wilson but Hoedt is on-hand with a fine block.
86' Free-kick in a good area for Southampton as Ibe fouls Boufal. Remond delivers but it's dealt with, though the Saints get a throw-in on the other side.
M. Gabbiadini
S. Davis
85' Final change for Southampton, Gabbiadini is introduced for the final exchanges. Davis is the man replaced.
84' Bournemouth continue to press, as they're enjoying another fine spell, but Southampton's defence is doing very well to protect Asmir Begovic.
82' CHANCE! Austin should have buried that! Bertrand is again given far too much room down the left and his delivery is superb. Austin rises inside the six yard box but he can't keep his header down, sending it over the bar.
81' PENALTY SHOUT! Not as clear cut as the last but Bertrand tangles with Wilson, after Bournemouth can't quite find the room to test Forster. Jon Moss gets this decision correct.
79' CLOSE! Southampton go close again, with Redmond striking from distance and seeing a shot go fizzing past the post.
78' This tie is still there for the taking and a winning goal for either team would be a massive boost to their Premier League ambitions.
M. Lemina
Yellow Card
76' Yellow card for Lemina, who has only just been introduced, as he has his hands all over Lewis Cook's shirt.
76' SAVE! Huge chance for Bournemouth, as Joshua King turns brilliantly inside the box to force Fraser into a diving save and the rebound bounces off Wilson. Better from the Cherries!
M. Lemina
D. Tadić
74' Second change of the game for Southampton and Tadic is withdrawn, bringing on club-record signing Lemina.
73' Bournemouth do seem a little brighter after the introduction of Ibe and Wilson but they need to be more creative if they're going to utilise the duo in the attacking third.
71' Twenty minutes to go and Bournemouth need to wake up, as a second goal for the Saints looks inevitable. Boufal wins a corner, with his effort deflected over.
J. Ibe
J. Stanislas
69' Bournemouth's second change is the introduction of Ibe, who replaces Stanislas.
69' OFF THE BAR! Van Dijk knocks a free-kick on with his head and Austin, who has come alive in the second period, heads onto the bar. However, the offside flag was raised.
C. Wilson
J. Defoe
69' Double change for Bournemouth, the first of which sees Defoe replaced by Callum Wilson.
67' Southampton have dominated since that opening goal and Bournemouth are on the back foot again, though Eddie Howe is poised to make changes to his side.
65' CHANCE! It's the visiting supporters who are in full voice now, as echoes of the 'Saints go marching in' ring around the Vitality. Bertrand is free again on the left but his delivery is poor, he should have provided Austin with a sitter.
63' Well, that sets up quite a finish to this game. The tide of the game has changed and Southampton now look confident, though they haven't won any of the last 11 Premier League hames where they've conceded first.
N. Redmond
61' Pellegrino wanted an impact from Redmond after his first-half introduction and he's certainly done that!
C. Austin
61' GOAL! Southampton get their reward for a positive period, as Austin tucks home his third goal in two starts. Romeu steals the ball and plays out wide, where substitute Redmond drives a low cross into the area that puts the ball on the plate for his strike partner.
59' SAVE! Southampton agonisingly close to an equaliser, with Begovic forced into a save after Tadic's effort. It came moments after Austin came close to poking home inside the six-yard box, whilst a frenzy followed that only resulted in a corner for the Saints.
57' SAVE! Bournemouth in control and Stanislas forces a save from Fraser down low, with the Cherries banging on the door as they chase a second goal that would probably seal all three points.
55' After being on the back foot for the opening minutes of the second period, Bournemouth have once again settled into their stride and look to be the better side.
53' Just like the first-half, Southampton have started well. Bournemouth still look strong though and the Saints certainly need to improve in the final third.
51' CLOSE! Inches away from a second goal for Bournemouth, who move the ball around to craft an opening. King flashes a shot at goal, which Stanislas is just a touch away from tucking home at the far post.
50' Free-kick for Bournemouth out wide on the right, which allows Stanislas to deliver. Southampton stand firm though, clearing the ball away.
48' SAVE! Southampton start brightly, as the ball is switched to Boufal and he drives a low effort towards goal that Begovic is forced to dive upon to keep out.
N. Redmond
J. Ward-Prowse
46' Change at the break sees Redmond introduced, on the back of a week where he's been in plenty of headlines- though not for his own doing.
45' KICK-OFF! Second-half has begun, Southampton now kick to the left as they seek a way back into the match.
Southampton started positively, looking particularly dangerous down the left, but Bournemouth started to take control after getting into the game. Charlie Austin has forced Asmir Begovic into a decent save but he's looking isolated in attack, whilst James Ward-Prowse and Dusan Tadic have largely been passengers.
Bournemouth started slowly but then forced Fraser Forster into two fantastic saves, whilst they were extremely unfortunate not to get a penalty after Boufal dived in on Smith. Fraser's goal is the difference at the break, with the Cherries midfielder now playing a direct part in four goals in his last seven Premier League games.
HALF-TIME! Jon Moss calls the end of a very entertaining first-half and Bournemouth have a narrow lead, which they certainly deserve. Their pressure on the Southampton defence created the goalscoring chance, which Fraser tucked home with ease. Southampton started well but have declined significantly since.
45' CHANCE! A glorious opening for Southampton, as Bertrand is unleashed down the left and cuts the ball back to Boufal in the middle. He's arriving late into the area but skies his finish, a real waste.
44' Southampton have work to do now. They started very well here but have slowly sunk away in the match, now struggling to break down Bournemouth's resilient defence.
A. Surman
42' Surman gets the assist but credit where it's due to Joshua King, who made the opportunity after putting Hoedt under pressure.
R. Fraser
42' GOAL! That's the aggressive play I was talking about! King robs possession off  Hoedt and it's played across to Surman. Fraser is charging through as support and he's fed the ball, slotting the ball beneath Forster and giving the hosts the lead.
41' Interesting to see both sides playing fairly aggressively without the ball, as the attackers are quick to close down their defensive counterparts and are limiting the ability of both sides to build opportunities from the back.
39' WHAT A STRIKE! Unbelievable hit! Daniels shapes up to strike from distance and a swerving shot with the outside of the foot whistles past the far post. Bournemouth have certainly found their feet!
38' The match has a feel of a game that will be decided by one goal so it's crucial for the defences to stay alert in the latter stages of the first-half.
36' Had that Austin header gone in, the roof would have blown off the Vitality Stadium. Everyone connected with the hosts is understandably furious with the penalty shout they had turned down and I think Jon Moss himself would have been relieved to see Begovic keep the ball out at the other end.
35' It may not be the biggest derby in the Premier League, or even on the South Coast itself, but incidents like that will certainly change the perspective. The atmosphere is rising!
33' SAVE! Now for controversy at the other end! Austin rises high in the box and forces a save from Begovic, with the Southampton players then appealing for handball after it struck Francis. It would have been harsh, to be fair.
J. Defoe
Yellow Card
31' Defoe was also booked in the wake of the penalty shout after making his frustrations clear.
A. Smith
Yellow Card
31' Smith booked in controversial circumstances, the referee got that one wrong I'm afraid.
31' HUGE DECISION! Smith charges into the box following a corner and goes to ground under challenge from Boufal. There's definite contact but referee Jon Moss gives the decision the other way, booking the Bournemouth man for a dive.
29' Chance for Bournemouth with a free-kick after King is fouled and Stanislas goes for goal ambitiously. It's blocked and the opportunity goes begging.
27' Bournemouth have done well to quieten down Boufal on the left side following his early displays but he remains very dangerous.
25' Young Lewis Cook, who is an absolute must buy on the latest edition of Football Manager, is impressing in the middle of the park so far today. He's just fired a fizzing effort over the bar.
23' Positive signs for Bournemouth then, who have looked a lot better in the past ten minutes and are now enjoying a spell on the front foot.
21' WHAT A SAVE! Bournemouth so close to the opening goal! Smith strikes towards goal and Defoe is inside the six-yard box to provide a deft flick. It looked destined to break the deadlock but superb reflexes from Forster keep the veteran striker out, with the England stopper than on hand to keep out Ake's diving header.
19' The visitors still control the tide of the game but the opening period has significantly lacked chances.
17' Neither side has a player in their ranks who has scored three or more goals this season, which largely describes the problems of both sides so far this term.
15' Southampton still on the front foot, and look to be the side most likely to break the deadlock, but Bournemouth's defensive line is doing enough as Tadic heads a chance way over the bar.
13' CHANCE! First real opening of the game, as Van Dijk skins Simon Francis in the box following and rises to head narrowly wide of the left side. A decent chance for the Dutchman.
11' Both sides exploting their respective left flanks here, with Southampton looking to utilise Boufal's threat whilst Bournemouth are looking to expose Jeremy Pied, who will be rusty after his absence so far this season.
9' Better from the hosts, who as you'd expect are moving the ball about well, but Southampton are standing firm for now.
7' Bournemouth yet to get going here and they're already struggling to keep Boufal contained. It could be a long day for the Cherries.
5' Southampton certainly the better of th two sides in the early exchanges and Boufal is looking very dangerous. Tadic is currently playing centrally but the front three behind Austin will rotate.
3' Bright start for Southampton, with Bertrand and Boufal linking up down the left, and it requires divine intervention from Nathan Ake to prevent a goalscoring chance.
2' Rare starts for both sides today, with Defoe getting a taste of action and Pied making his first Premier League appearance this season for Southampton.
1' KICK-OFF! We're underway at the Vitality Stadium! Bournemouth get us started, kicking to the left in this first-half.
Difficult game to predict here at the Vitality Stadium, as both sides have been guilty of inconsistency this term. With a total of eleven players on the pitch who didn't start in midweek, there's certainly a lot of changes to take into account too.
Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino also makes a host of changes, with six in total. Pied, Davis, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Boufal and Austin return. Redmond drops to the bench after a few days of controversy following Pep Guardiola's confrontation, where he's joined by the likes ofHojbjerg, Lemina and Yoshida.
Howe makes five changes to the side that lost to Burnley, handing starts to Defoe, Stanislas, Fraser, Lewis Cook and Smith. Wilson, Ibe, Pugh and Steve Cook drop to the bench, whilst Harry Arter doesn't make the squad.
Southampton subs: Alex McCarthy, Matt Targett, Manolo Gabbiadini, Maya Yoshida, Nathan Redmond, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Mario Lemina.
Bournemouth subs: Artur Boruc, Jordon Ibe, Marc Pugh, Callum Wilson, Benik Afobe, Dan Gosling, Steve Cook.
Southampton XI: Fraser Forster; Jeremy Pied, Virgil Van Dijk, Wesley Hoedt, Ryan Bertrand; Steven Davis, Oriol Romeu; James Ward-Prowse, Dusan Tadic, Sofiane Boufal; Charlie Austin.
Bournemouth XI: Asmir Begovic; Adam Smith, Simon Francis, Nathan Ake, Charlie Daniels; Junior Stanislas, Lewis Cook, Andrew Surman, Ryan Fraser; Joshua King; Jermain Defoe.
Southampton also lost 2-1 in midweek, with Manchester City netting a last gasp winner, and now have just two wins from their past nine. Sat six points above the drop, defeat today would see Bournemouth leapfrog them in the table, whilst a win will send them into the top-half.
A 2-1 loss in midweek to Burnley ended Bournemouth's run of three games unbeaten and Eddie Howe's side will be looking over their shoulders, as they sit just four points above the relegation zone. However, victory today would see the Cherries fly up the standings to eleventh.
