Tuyisenge has scored seven goals this season, with Gor Mahia having sealed the KPL title for the third successive time

Gor Mahia will have to move quickly and fill in the void left by departing lead striker Jacques Tuyisenge.

The Rwandan hitman, who has so far managed seven goals in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL), is set to sign for Angolan side Petro Atletico after they tabled an offer on Friday.

As exclusively revealed by Goal, the Kenyan champions are discussing the huge offer from Petro Atletico and are willing to let go Tuyisenge, whose contract with the club was to end in December 2019.

“Petro Atletico has offered $150000 for Tuyisenge and Gor Mahia are set to get 20% when they finally sell him. His contract ends in December and he is expected not to renew the contract," Gor Mahia official Judith Nyangi told Goal.

“The two clubs have agreed on contractual terms defining the transfer of Tuyisenge and the only thing Gor Mahia is awaiting on now is the money agreed to be wired into their accounts.”

Tuyisenge leaves having won the Kenyan Premier League title thrice since joining from Police FC in 2016. He reportedly joined Gor Mahia in a deal worth Sh 4 million three years ago after netting 13 goals for Police FC of Rwanda.

Recently, Tanzanian giants Yanga SC, Simba SC, a DR Congo side and AS Vita were among the clubs linked with the Rwandan captain.

Here, Goal parades some of the strikers that K’Ogalo can turn towards as a replacement for the lethal striker, who has been the Green Army's top scorer since he joined in 2016.

  1. Goal Kenya.

    John Avire – Sofapaka

With seven goals to his name so far, Batoto ba Mungu striker John Avire can be the perfect replacement for Tuyisenge and his vital experience gained at Bandari, Nakumatt and Kakamega Homeboyz will be an added advantage.

  2. SOny Sugar.

    Derrick Otanga – Sony Sugar

Otanga has been the most outstanding striker for Sony Sugar who are most likely to finish among the top three teams in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) and his season's exploits have seen him score 13 goals.

  3. Goal Kenya.

    Allan Wanga – Kakamega Homeboyz

An outright leader in the KPL top scorers' charts with 18 goals and his experience both in the domestic league and outside the country may count as somebody to perfectly replace the Rwandan captain at Gor Mahia.

  4. Goal Kenya.

    Yema Mwana – Bandari FC

As Bandari aim to finish the season as second runners up, Yema Mwana's 11 goals are actually the reason the Dockers remained a formidable side in the season and could be a good addition into the Gor Mahia squad.

  5. Goal Kenya.

    David Majak – Tusker FC

Although he is not experienced like the players named before him, Tusker's Majak can be a good signing for the Kenyan champions given his speed and creativity, he has five goals so far despite signing for the Brewers’ in April.

  6. Goal Kenya.

    Umaru Kasumba – Sofapaka

The Ugandan striker is currently chasing Allan Wanga of Kakamega Homeboyz for the Golden Boot. With 17 goals so far in the season, it has been a great campaign for a player who has already landed an invite for trials in Germany. With his goal ratio, he can effectively fit in to replace Tuyisenge.

  7. Goal Kenya.

    Vincent Oburu – AFC Leopards

Though turning out for Gor Mahia rivals, the youngster can be considered to play up front for the Kenyan champions. He has not enjoyed a good season so far owing to a troubling knee injury but has the knack to score goals like it was the case in the recent Mashemeji Derby when he grabbed one for Ingwe.
