East Bengal have had it very tough since joining the Indian Super League (ISL) ahead of the 2021/22 season. They ended their debut campaign with a ninth-place finish and the performance graph further went downwards when they hit the rock bottom last season.
With a new investor on board in Emami Group, the Red and Golds will hope to end their misfortunes in the upcoming 2022/23 ISL season.
The Kolkata giants have already started their preparation for the new season, albeit late, with former India international head coach Stephen Constantine at the helm. They have also filled five out of their six foreign players' quota and the Indian contingent too is almost ready.
