That's all we've got time for today folks, so congratulations to Sean Dyche and his men! Perhaps they can do better on the road this term to go with their impressive home form of 2016-17. Join us again next time for more LIVE action.
This surprise result could strengthen Conte's hand in seeking reinforcements before the transfer window closes, but Chelsea supporters will fear a repeat of the slump that followed their 2014-15 title triumph and ultimately cost Jose Mourinho his job in December 2015.
Morata really impressed when he came on, setting up David Luiz's goal, but the day belongs to Burnley. A famous victory for the Clarets, as the reigning champions lose on the opening day of the season for the first time since Aston Villa back in 1981.
WOW, what a start to the champions' Premier League title defence. They went down to 10 men and fell 3-0 behind to plucky little Burnley. An attempted comeback wasn't helped by Cesc Fabregas joining Gary Cahill in being sent off, but Chelsea still got it back to 3-2.
90' + 4' CHANCE! Alonso fires into a thicket of players inside the area but it bounces clear, Morata unable to react quickly enough. That must be it!
90' + 4' Willian crosses but a Burnley head is there to clear it for a throw-in. The crowd are on the edge of their seats!
90' + 4' Into the final minute of added time now at Stamford Bridge. Burnley are desperate to see it out!
90' + 3' Conte is hopping up and down on the touchline. The Italian wasn't happy at the amount of added time and now he's urging his players to make the most of what little opportunities they have left.
C. Musonda
A. Christensen
Chelsea
90' + 2' The sub is subbed, Christensen making way for Charly Musonda as Conte tries to summon some magic in injury time.
90' + 1' The fourth official's electronic board has gone up to display four minutes of added time here. What a finish we have in store!
90' POST! Brady's free-kick from just outside the area HAMMERS against the woodwork as Burnley narrowly fail to restore a two-goal cushion.

89' A clever flicked header from Morata fell perfectly for David Luiz. The newcomer has done really well since coming on.
David Luiz
Goal
Chelsea
88' SQUEAKY BUM TIME! Burnley are in trouble here. Morata flicked the ball on for the unlikely figure of David Luiz, who latched onto it and fired a firm finish past the helpless Heaton. Can the nine men find an equaliser in the final minutes?
87' PENALTY APPEAL! Kante puts in the cross and Alonso goes down under pressure from Brady inside the area, but Pawson shows no interest in awarding a spot-kick. Hopeful stuff from the Spaniard and the subsequent corner is cleared.
86' CHANCE! Morata scrambles to his feet to pick up possession, makes space for himself and fires off a snap shot that is saved by Heaton. The performance of the striker is a cause for optimism on a disappointing day for Chelsea.
84' STAT: Chelsea have been given two red cards in the same Premier League game for the first time since March 2014 (vs Aston Villa). Thanks for that one, Opta.
83' Going down to nine men could be enough to kill off Chelsea's comeback and make a famous win for Burnley safe here in west London. The Chelsea fans are singing "3-1 to the referee" but the home side have contributed to their own demise.
81' RED! He's flirted with big trouble ever since he entered the ref's book in the first half and Fabregas now joins Cahill in seeing red. A late challenge on Cork is enough for Pawson to bring out the yellow card yet again and the former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder has to walk. He'll be suspended for the meeting with Tottenham next week.
80' And from the subsequent set-piece, the balls falls to Kante on the edge of the area. The France midfielder takes a pot shot, which sails wide of the post. Not a bad attempt, but time is running out for Chelsea.
80' They may only have 10 men, but Chelsea are controlling things late on here at Stamford Bridge. Good work by Willian inside the area wins the hosts a corner.
David Luiz

Chelsea
77' The offside flag again denies Chelsea and, on a day of dissent, David Luiz talks his way into a yellow, the defender unimpressed as Morata is flagged for straying beyond the Burnley backline.
S. Arfield
Thẻ vàng
Burnley
77' Arfield gets his name in the ref's book before touching the ball, clattering into Alonso on the flank to give away a free-kick. The Chelsea fans are not impressed.
S. Arfield
J. Guðmundsson
Burnley
75' And there are some fresh legs introduced in the form of Scott Arfield, who takes over from Gudmundsson.
J. Walters
S. Defour
Burnley
75' A competitive Burnley debut for Jonathan Walters, the experienced striker, signed from Stoke in the off-season, replacing the excellent Defour.
73' OFFSIDE! Chelsea are denied a second when Morata gets on the end of Christensen's shot. If he'd left it, the Blues would have been back to within one goal, but the assistant referee's flag is correctly raised to rule out the strike.
73' A change in tactics from Conte, who has gone to a back four, with Christensen at right-back, Alonso at left-back and Rudiger and David Luiz in the middle.
72' So the 10 men of Chelsea have around 20 minutes to find two more goals, without letting Burnley add to their tally. Could we see a remarkable comeback from the champions here in west London?
Willian
Kiến tạo
Chelsea
69' Willian has had a good game for Chelsea in the circumstances and he finally broke free of Defour's close attentions to swing in the cross for Morata's header.
Álvaro Morata
Goal
Chelsea
69' THE COMEBACK IS ON! And who else but MORATA!? The expensively acquired Spain striker got in between the centre-backs and had all the time and space in the world to glance a header past Heaton.
68' He's been given plenty of freedom to get stuck in by Pawson, but Tarkowski has certainly done well for Burnley, who had cause to be concerned about their options at centre-back going into this campaign, Michael Keane having been sold to Everton.
67' HALF CHANCE! Willian fails to intercept a high, swinging ball in to the back post and Brady gets there first. It's tough to make good contact on such a high ball though and his header goes harmlessly wide.
66' Morata has perhaps already looked more lively than Batshuayi in the six minutes or so he's been on, holding it up well and giving the Burnley backline something to think about with his movement and presence.
65' Fabregas swings in the subsequent free-kick and David Luiz heads well over. A better spell for Chelsea in the last 10 minutes, but there's such a long way back for the undermanned title holders.
B. Mee
Thẻ vàng
Burnley
63' The Chelsea players and fans want Ben Mee to be punished more severely for a tackle from behind on Morata, but it's just a yellow. "You don't know what you're doing" they sing at Pawson.
62' BIG CHANCE! A tasty curling free-kick is directed on goal by Alonso, but Heaton is equal to the task, getting his finger tips to the ball and tipping it over the bar.
R. Brady
Thẻ vàng
Burnley
60' A huge chorus of ironic cheers goes up from the Chelsea fans as Brady is shown Burnley's first yellow card of the match for barging over Willian to end a promising attack.
Álvaro Morata
M. Batshuayi
Chelsea
59' Batshuayi waited and waited for his chance last term and he's done very little so far in 2017-18. The Belgium striker makes way for Morata, who is used to strutting his stuff in Champions League finals with Real Madrid. What can he do against these inspired Clarets?
58' Approaching the hour mark and Chelsea are really short of ideas. Willian tried to play in Azpilicueta down the right, but the ball is heavy and goes out for a goal kick. Time for Conte to roll the dice.
57' Another Burnley corner and Voakes gets there ahead of Alonso, but this time he can't direct a header on target. The Burnley centre-forward is on a hat-trick here at the Bridge.
55' A narrow escape for Fabregas, who brings down Hendrick and doesn't approve when the referee awards a free-kick to Burnley. He's already on a yellow and Chelsea can't afford to go down to nine men.
54' PENALTY APPEAL! Alonso once again is picked out by Kante down the left of the Burnley box. He fires the ball at Lowton and it hits the arm of the Burnley right-back, but Pawson ignores the anquished claims of the hosts' fans.
53' The Clarets deal with the set-piece with ease, though, and Chelsea have to build again.
52' Lowton is caught in possession by Alonso, who gets into the area and forces a corner. He's been one of the few bright performers for Chelsea.
52' Very quiet here at Stamford Bridge early in the second half, as supporters of the champions struggle to process a horror start to their title defence. Will unhappy memories of 2015-16 under Jose Mourinho come bubbling to the surface?
51' Looking at that one again, it really was a good save from England's Heaton. Finger tips preventing a spectacular Chelsea goal.
50' Better from Chelsea. Fabregas and Kante get it out to Alonso, who unleashes a vicious strike. Heaton is required to tip it over the bar.
49' Rudiger there sums up Chelsea's woes in this game, blazing well wide with a very hopeful long-range effort. They haven't had a shot on target yet in this match.
48' With on substitute already on, Conte hasn't made any changes. The stern Italian must have given his team quite the talking to at the break. Let's see if it has any effect...
46' Back underway here at Stamford Bridge, where a huge opening-day upset appears to be the most likely outcome. Can Chelsea pull off an escape act?
STAT ATTACK: Courtesy of our friends at Opta, Chelsea are three goals behind at half-time in a Premier League match at Stamford Bridge for the first time ever. Rout!
Two goals from Sam Voakes and one from Stephen Ward have done the damage for the visitors, who have a golden opportunity to shake off their away-day woes and make a flying start on the road in 2017-18.
And there's the half-time whistle. Boos ring out from around Stamford Bridge. What a remarkable 45 minutes! Burnley are 3-0 ahead and they thoroughly deserve it, Chelsea having fallen apart following the sending off of Gary Cahill.
45' + 3' David Luiz had a narrow escape on the stroke of half-time, almost headbutting Robbie Brady. Pawson was there to break it up, but another referee could have taken a dim view of that incident. A lucky escape for the Brazil defender?
45' + 3' Batshuayi wanted a foul to be given after he was strongly fended off by Tarkowski at the top of the area, but Pawson wasn't interested.
45' + 2' But the subsequent set-piece came to nothing, Rudiger giving away a foul to ease the pressure on Burnley. The sun is out but the Chelsea fans in the stands look glum in their gleaming new replica kits.
45' + 1' A half chance for Chelsea just before half-time, Kante's shot saved by Heaton to concede a corner.
S. Defour

Burnley
43' Chelsea didn't learn their lesson from Ward and Cork's earlier clever set-piece routine. Why on earth wasn't Defour closed down?
S. Vokes
Goal
Burnley
43' THREE. NIL. BURNLEY. Voakes is there unmarked with the most simple of headers after Defour is gifted acres of space to cross following another short free-kick. Burnley are tearing apart the 10-man champions.
42' We may well see Morata introduced earlier than Conte might have planned here. Batshuayi has had very little service up front for Chelsea but he's not done much to help himself either. Largely annoymous so far.
40' David Luiz blazes a half-chance wildly over as Chelsea's frustration at their unexpected situation becomes evident.
J. Cork

Burnley
39' Cork was the perfect foil for Ward's quick-thinking, releasing his team-mate into a dangerous area and sitting back to watch the fireworks.
S. Ward
Goal
Burnley
39' WHAT A GOAL! 2-0 to Burnley!!! Ward started and finished that move, pushing the free-kick short, linking up with Cork, advancing down the left side of the box and then smashing the ball across Thibaut Courtois and into the far corner. Extraordinary stuff.
39' Free-kick to Burnley just inside the Chelsea half.
38' A promising Burnley counterattack comes to nothing as Hendrick is caught in possession, but Sean Dyche's men have it back again. Some real cut and thrust to this game thanks to Chelsea going a man down.
36' Willian again catches the eye, dropping deep, picking up possession and looking to make things happen. But there aren't too many options available ahead of him.
35' We're having another look at the Cahill challenge via the replays now and it certainly looks like Pawson made the right call. Cahill was out of control as he went to ground and could have hurt Defour.
34' Gudmundsson wastes good work down the Burnley left by Hendrick and Cork and now Chelsea come away with it, seeking to make something happen.
32' Willian has looked lively for Chelsea but Defour has done well to frustrate his attempts to make things happen, the Belgian putting in a good challenge to dispossess the Brazil international.
31' Batshuayi, handed his big chance in this match by Conte, isn't having much joy, now ploughing a very lone furrow up front and finding himself in the pocket of the Burnley centre-backs.
30' Brady and Ward linked up well down Burnley's left, but Voakes commits a foul on Fabregas to relieve the pressure on the Chelsea defence.
29' This must be quite a sight for the Burnley faithful, who have made the long trip down to the capital and are seeing their team, notoriously underwhelming on the road last term, boss the game against the Premier League champions.
27' Willian and Kante combine to find Alonso down the left side of the box. Although the pass is a little heavy, he gets there and swings a cross in, but it's harmlessly into the arms of goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
26' Well, well, well. I don't think any of the Chelsea fans arriving at Stamford Bridge today expected the game to start in this fashion.
M. Lowton
Kiến tạo
Burnley
25' It was a decent enough ball in from Lowton, but he was given too much space by the Chelsea defence and David Luiz should have been tighter on Voakes.
S. Vokes
Goal
Burnley
24' GOAAALL! Burnley have pounced against the 10 men of Chelsea. Lowton crosses from the right flank and Sam Voakes hooks an untidy half-volley into the bottom corner to make it 1-0.
23' Throw in to Chelsea down the right flank and it's passed back to the defence.
22' Will the Clarets be able to capitalise on their numerical advantage here in west London? They're seeing more of the ball but they haven't created too much just yet.
21' Burnley are now enjoying a spell of sustained possession, their first of the match, and this game has been turned on its head!
A. Christensen
J. Boga
Chelsea
18' After a surprise start, Jeremie Boga is sacrificed for Andreas Christensen as Conte shuffles his pack to account for Cahill's dismissal.
Fàbregas
Thẻ vàng
Chelsea
16' And now Fabregas has found his way into the referee's notebook by sarcastically applauding one of the match official's decisions. Chelsea need to make sure they don't lose their heads here!
16' The ball just got away from Cahill as the new Chelsea captain carried it out of defence and he made the mistake of stretching to get it back, clattering dangerously into the Belgian midfielder. Was it a controversial decision, or did Pawson get it exactly right?
16' Referee Craig Pawson had no hestitation in showing the first red card of the Premier League season.
G. Cahill
Thẻ đỏ
Chelsea
14' RED! Ohhh, goodness me! Here's a cat among the pigeons. Gary Cahill has been sent off in just the 13th minute for a studs-up lunge on Steven Defour.
12' Chelsea are really bossing possession so far, Fabregas and little dynamo N'Golo Kante cycling possession nicely from side to side as the hosts probe their visitors for weaknesses.
11' CHANCE! Tarkowski has to clear after Batshuayi released Azpilicueta down the right and the Spain international swung in a very tempting cross.
10' Willian advanced into the area there after a good move created space for Chelsea in attack. The Brazil midfielder stood up a cross for surprise inclusion Jeremie Boga, but he gives away a free-kick to Burnley.
8' A half-chance there for Chelsea, as Cesc Fabregas picks out Cesar Azpilicueta down the right, the wing-back's cross floating narrowly over the Burnley bar.
7' Costa's replacement in this one is Michy Batshuayi, who starts ahead of Alvaro Morata, a club-record signing from Real Madrid in the off-season.
6' It will be interesting to see how Chelsea fare this term after Conte opted not to consider Diego Costa for selection, the Spain international seeking a move away from west London following a falling out with the coach last term.
5' Antonio Conte's men are looking comfortable in possession so far but are yet to threaten the Clarets' defence.
Marcos Alonso
Thẻ vàng
Chelsea
3' Less than two minutes on the clock and Marcos Alonso is booked for a foul on Matt Lowton. Not an ideal start for the champions.
1' We're under way here at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea kicking from right to left and keen to get their title defence off to a strong start.
Burnley hand out a debut of their own to midfielder Jack Cork, but their other summer signings - Charlie Taylor, Jon Walters and Chris Long - are limited to a place on the bench at kick-off today. Sam Vokes leads the line, flanked by Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Robbie Brady, with Jeff Hendrick offering support through the centre.
Antonio Conte makes two changes from last weekend's Community Shield, handing Premier League debuts to defender Antonio Rudiger and winger Jeremie Boga. Azpilicueta moves to wing-back to make way for Rudiger, with Victor Moses (ban) and Pedro (ankle) the ones to give way. Eden Hazard also misses out due to injury, while Alvaro Morata is on his bench, in line for his first PL appearance as a substitute.
SUBS: Taylor, Barnes, Westwood, Walters, Long, Pope, Arfield.
BURNLEY (4-5-1): Heaton; Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Ward; Cork, Defour; Gudmundsson, Hendrick, Brady; Vokes.
SUBS: Caballero, Morata, Kenedy, Musonda, Christensen, Tomori, Scott.
CHELSEA (3-4-3): Courtois; Rudiger, Luiz, Cahill; Azpilicueta, Kante, Fabregas, Alonso; Willian, Boga, Batshuayi.
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
Burnley, a popular pick to be relegated this season, will be up against it to avoid the drop having lost two of their biggest contributors over the summer in defender Michael Keane and forward Andre Gray, having spent a mere fraction of the money made on reinforcements.
There were many contributing factors to Chelsea’s success last season, but a big one was how they rarely slipped up against opposition outside the top six, a trend they will fancy their chances of continuing today against a Burnley side who struggle mightily away from home.
The aim for Chelsea today is to send out a statement to the rest of the Premier League regarding their title defence following a impressive summer in the transfer window in which they reinforced an already strong squad with a trio of high-profile signings.
There's nothing like the start of a new season. Summer's stench is still in the air, anticipation is brewing and it's a blank slate for 20 clubs vying for the Premier League crown - the one that currently resides in Stamford Bridge.
Hello and welcome to live coverage from Stamford Bridge as the defending Premier League champions Chelsea open their 2017/18 campaign against Burnley!
