Last Game - USA - MLS
Founded: 1996
Address: 14800 Quorum Drive, Suite 300 United States
Phone: (214) 979-0303
Chairman: Doug Quinn
Club Director: Barry Gorman
Club History
Founded: 1996, as the Dallas Burn
Nicknames:
FCD, The Hoops
Stadium:
Cotton Bowl, Dallas, TX
History: Originally named the Dallas Burn, FC Dallas came into being in 2005, in preparation for the side’s move into Pizza Hut Park, its own soccer-specific stadium. In the early years, Dallas was one of the most consistent teams in the league, fronted by striker Jason Kreis, who netted 91 goals for Dallas over 9 seasons. Kreis is still MLS’s all-time leading scorer. But Dallas could never break through to the MLS Cup and the team fell on hard times around the millennium, missing the playoffs in 2002 and 2003. A recent rebuilding effort brought in young talent like Eddie Johnson, Ronnie O’Brien, and Carlos Ruiz.
All-time record (thru 2004):
W 104, L 55, D 115
Former players of note:
Hugo Sanchez, Leonel Alvarez, Alain Sutter, Ariel Graziani, Jason Kreis, Cory Gibbs, Mark Dodd
