Founded: 1996
Address: Gillette Stadium, One Patriot Place United States
Official URL: www.revolutionsoccer.net
Chairman: Jonathon Kraft
Club Director: Mike Burns
Stadium: Gillette Stadium
Club History
Founded: 1996
Nicknames:
The Revs
Stadium:
Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, MA
History:
A founding club, the Revs were set back from the start when original coach Frank Stapleton drafted poorly and the team wallowed in mediocrity for most of a decade. Several good players, such as Alexi Lalas, Michael Burns, and Joe-Max Moore have come and gone without bringing the club any hardware. In 2002, former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol took over the coaching duties and has steadily guided the team into a good position. He has made good draft picks, such as Pat Noonan and Clint Dempsey, and integrated them with veterans like Steve Ralston, Grenada international Shalrie Joseph, and the Revs’ all-time leading scorer, Taylor Twellman (47 goals, through 2004).
All-time record (thru 2004):
W 87, L 122, D 66
Former players of note:
Michael Burns, Alexi Lalas, Walter Zenga, Joe-Max Moore
