The 30-year-old Seliga spent most of his playing years at hometown club NK Celje in the Slovenian PrvaLiga. The club qualified for the UEFA Cup as well. He had a brief stint with Slavia Prague in 2005 but returned he returned to NK Celje soon after.
Two clubs were interested in Seliga's services in the summer of 2009 - SC Heerenveen and Sparta Rotterdam. He trained with Heerenveen for a bit, but was not given a contract.
However, Sparta were in need for a 'keeper, since their previous shot-stopper Cassio Ramos returned to PSV Eindhoven after an ended loan-period. He trained with them as well and impressed them enough to get a two-year contract. He was chosen as the first choice 'keeper in his first season with Sparta by coach Frans Adelaar.
Seliga was called up to the national team in 2007 and has remained in the squad since then. He has still not played a match for his home country, because he is second choice goalkeeper after Udinese keeper, Samir Handanovic.
