Ten international player v manager bust-ups
1. Giorgio Chinaglia v Ferruccio Valcareggi (1974)
One of Italian football's biggest characters with outrageous talent to match put the nail in his international career with his reaction to being substituted against Haiti in the 1974 World Cup in Germany. Chinaglia (pictured above with the New York Cosmos, behind Pele) started arguing with his coach Valcareggi, telling him in no uncertain terms where to go with a choice hand gesture, and knocking over some water bottles before retiring to the dressing room, which he proceeded to smash up. Latin temperament, eh? Nah, this nutter grew up in lovely Wales.
