Michael Bradley - The coach's son has had his share of detractors in his time with the USA, but don't let the naysayers fool you. Michael Bradley has proven to be a solid, if unspectacular midfielder. Though no one would ever confuse Bradley with being one of the best midfielders in the world, he is a competent box-to-box workman who knows how to operate in his fathers 4-4-2 alignment as either the defensive mid or the attacking option. Since moving to Germany, Bradley has progressed into a much more hard-nosed tackler, a trait that seemed to be lacking in his early days with the USA.

What has not changed is Bradley's tireless workrate. Though at times the youngster lacks the ability to orchestrate an attack, his tactical knowledge and ability to out-work opponents plays in his favour. The downside of Bradley is simply his temper, which at times has gotten the better of him. The USA's deepest position is in the middle of the park, but Bradley has become one of three regular starters along with Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan, meaning that any matches missed due to suspensions would be devastating.
