Park Chu-Young, Korea vs Australia (Goal.com)
Park went to Zico's Football Center in Brazil for training at 2002 when he was a high school student. The Korean public first became excited in 2004 after his brilliant performance at the AFC Youth Championship 2004 and Park chu-young was immediately hailed as the next big hope of Korean football. He was named as the Asian Young Footballer of the Year by the AFC in 2004.

In March 2005, he made his professional debut in the K-league for FC Seoul and settled quickly, scoring a hat-trick in his first home game. His international debut came in June 2005 against Uzbekistan and produced a last-minute vital equaliser. Park also scored 18 goals and became top scorer of the K-League at 2005.

By this time, he was a huge star in his homeland but from 2006 to 2008, a loss of form and a series of injuries saw him score just 17 goals. Despite the relative drop in his performances, he joined AS Monaco in August 2008. His debut season in Monaco was solid and his second season saw him feature in the league's goalscoring charts and become Korea's main striker.

Park is renowned for his speed, creativity and passing ability. Also he is a free kick specialist.
