The Golden Arrows hard man made his Premier Soccer League debut for the club in the 2006/07 season after transferring from lower league side Mabopane Young Masters. His excellent tackling and ability to dictate matters in the middle of the park has seen him become a vital member of the national team, especially in the last few months when his rise has been meteoric.
He is contending for a first team starting berth with Fulham's Kagisho Dikgacoi and veteran Rubin Kazan midfield worker Macbeth Sibaya, who was part of team that played in the 2002 World Cup finals. What makes Khuboni a cut above the rest is the fact that he is a good passer of the ball and has a powerful shot when his attention is turned towards goal.
However, his predominant use of the left foot and rare forward runs could see him sitting on the bench in favour of the two mentioned previously.Did you know? The combative midfielder is referred to as the South African Patrick Vieira by his admirers in the local football scene.
