Rubert Vittek – Born in Bratislava, he started his career with his hometown club SK Slovan Bratislava in 1999. Vittek then transferred to German club Nuernberg when it was in the 2. Bundesliga in 2003 and helped the team earn promotion for the 2004-05 season.
Vittek made Bundesliga history with 1. FC Nuernberg in 2005-06 season by becoming the first player to score six goals in two consecutive games. He scored all of his 16 goals in the second half of the season.
Unsurprisingly he was in demand in Europe after his super campaign, but after Nuernberg rejected Dynamo Kiev's €10 million offer, French club OSC Lille bought him for a reported transfer fee of €5.5 million in 2008.
On February 1, 2010 Lille striker Vittek signed a half-year loan deal with MKE Ankaragucu until the end of the season in Turkey.
Vittek is the second most capped Slovak national player having been with the A-team since 2001.
