Giovanni Van Bronckhorst - Barcelona
Together with Andre Ooijer and Mark van Bommel, left back Giovanni van Bronckhorst forms the experienced part of the Dutch team. Gio has won several major trophies during his career and has been captain of the national team since the international retirement of Edwin van der Sar.  

The Rotterdam-born Van Bronckhorst had his breakthrough at local club Feyenoord, where he was an important force in the midfield for several years. His move to Glasgow Rangers was the start of very successful international spell, in which Van Bronckhorst won league titles and cups in three different countries with Rangers, Arsenal and Barcelona. Winning the Champions League in 2006 with Barcelona was the highlight of his career.

A player with Feyenoord in his heart, Van Bronckhorst decided to return to his beloved club in the summer of 2007, adding the Dutch Cup to his palmares in 2008. Being a player of the Dutch national team since August 1996, Gio is very close to the magical boundary of 100 caps.
