Salomon Kalou is one player Ivory Coast’s FA tirelessly sought after when he was hunting for Dutch citizenship in order to play for Holland’s national team. And when Kalou couldn’t obtain a Dutch passport, he settled to play for his home country Ivory Coast.
Kalou is a pacy, fearless and tactical striker capable of piercing any defence. He began at the Mimosifcom before travelling to Holland in 2003 upon a request from his elder brother Kalou Bonaventure who was also playing in Holland then.
Kalou signed and played three seasons at Feyenoord, scoring 35 goals in 67 league appearances before moving to join Premier League giants Chelsea in 2006, where he still plays alongside compatriot Didier Drogba.
Kalou began playing for the Ivory Coast in 2007. He played at both the 2008 and 2010 African Cup of Nations. He is seen back home as the one person to rely on in case Drogba ever stumbles.

Salomon Kalou has 12 siblings – 4 boys and 8 girls, born by same mother.
