Kaka was already a big star when Brazil arrived in Germany for the last World Cup, but with Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Adriano sharing the spotlight with him, he didn't attract the same amount of attention he does now.

The biggest star of Dunga's team has a different background compared to most players of his country. Raised in a middle-class family with financial security, he was discovered by Sao Paulo in a school tournament at the age of eight.

Kaka's debut in the first team came in 2001, when he was 19. It was a dream debut, in the final of the Torneio Rio Sao Paulo. His team was losing 1-0 when he came in and scored two goals to give Sao Paulo the trophy.

After that, he established himself as the best player in the team and was called-up to the 2002 World Cup that was won by Brazil. Six months later, he would arrive in Milan to join the Rossoneri.

In the famous red and black shirt, Kaka turned himself into a star. He quickly became one of the fan favourites, and put himself in the history of the club by leading the campaign that got Milan the Champions League trophy in 2007. The performances were enough to give Kaka the FIFA World Player of the Year award and the famous Ballon d'Or.

His position as one of the most successful and talented players in the world has made him a target for Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, and Kaka moved to the Santiago Bernabeu and became one of the 'Galacticos' in 2009. His biggest ambition, however, is leading Brazil to victory in a World Cup, a dream he will have a chance to fullfil in June.

Kaka suffered a career-threatening accident in a swimming pool when he was 18. The player credits his recovery to God, and has renewed his
fervorous faith since the episode.
