From Australia to Europe to the Middle East, Beauchamp’s club career has been anything but orthodox. It’s been a meteoric rise though for the man who snuck his way into Guus Hiddink’s squad for the 2006 World Cup and he hasn’t let up since then, taking part in his country’s 2007 Asian Cup campaign and again forcing his way into the national team set up for a World Cup after going virtually unnoticed for quite some time.

Boasting an undeniable physical presence as well as composure on the ball when necessary, Beauchamp has come along in leaps and bounds since plying his trade with the Central Coast Mariners in the A-League (the benefits of an albeit brief continental career). Whilst he’s not in Verbeek’s first-team plans as a starter, he has rarely looked out of place on the international stage and would fit seamlessly into the side if ill-fortune were to befall either Moore or Neill.

Did you know?

Beauchamp was sent off 18 minutes into his club debut in Denmark.
