World Cup Betting Tips: Captain Kane odds-on to net three or more times in Russia

All eyes will be on Harry Kane this summer after he was chosen as World Cup captain by England manager Gareth Southgate.

The Tottenham striker had his most productive Premier League season to date as he hit 30 goals on the final day of the season, finishing just two behind record-breaker Mohamed Salah.

The Three Lions faithful will be hoping he can carry that form into Russia and bet365 offer 4/5 (1.80) that Kane scores over 2.5 goals at this summer’s World Cup.

England will play Tunisia, Panama and Belgium in Group G, giving Southgate’s men plenty of chance to get their scoring boots on and put the two outsiders to the sword before facing the Red Devils in what could be a first-place decider.

Kane was England’s top scorer in qualifying with five goals in his six appearances, including a brace against Malta and an injury time winner against Slovenia.

In fact, the only other players who managed more than one goal during the Three Lions’ 10 qualifying games were Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana – neither of whom are going to Russia.

Not since 1990 has an England player managed more than two goals at a single World Cup when Gary Lineker and David Platt both broke that mark, making three strikes at a tournament by an Englishman long overdue.

However, for those who have less faith in Kane, bet365 also offer even money (2.0) that he nets twice or fewer.

The online bookmaker has made the Spurs star 5/4 (2.25) to be England’s top scorer, whilst Raheem Sterling is available at 6/1 (7.0) and Jamie Vardy can be found at 8/1 (9.0).
