Wilfried Zaha leaves Crystal Palace pre-season camp

Crystal Palace have confirmed the departure of Wilfried Zaha from the team training base in Sweden in order to attend to personal issues.

Prior to the Eagles’ 6-1 victory over Halmstads on Monday night, the club released a statement via social media that the winger had left the Scandinavia ‘a couple of days early to deal with a family matter’.

“Roy Hodgson confirmed that unfortunately Wilfried Zaha had to leave the training camp a couple of days early to deal with a family matter, and is therefore not involved tonight,” the club tweeted.

Zaha has been strongly linked with a move away from Selhurst Park this summer with Everton, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham interested in signing him.

But Hodgson has ruled out a move for the club’s best player last season who still has four years remaining in his contract.

"What people seem to forget with Wilf is he has got a four-year contract,” the former England boss was quoted as saying The Sun.

"There is speculation every year around Messi and Ronaldo too. He is our player for the next four years and the club has got no interest or desire to sell him."
