The six teams in question are PKNP FC, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Kelantan and Negeri Sembilan. All these teams are currently occupying position 7th to 12th in the Super League standings after match day 19.
With only 12 points accumulated thus far, it looks like the end of the road for Negeri with only three more matches to go. A maximum of nine points can be gained but that's as many matches that they have won the entire season up to this point.
If Selangor and Kuala Lumpur can get a point from their next fixture against Negeri and Perak respectively, that would be enough to condemn Negeri back to the Premier League in the 2019 season.
Things are not better for 11th places side Kelantan as their final three fixture are all against teams in the top five places in the standings. A meeting against Johor Darul Ta'zim on Friday is followed by an away trip to Terengganu FC and a home tie against Pahang.
Defeat at Johor Bahru would put Yusri Che Lah's boys staring at their first season in the second tier since 2008.
As for Melaka United, they only need one more point to retain their place in the Super League and could do so from the matches against Pahang (H), Selangor (H) or Negeri Sembilan (A).
The final fixtures for PKNP, Selangor and KL also look likely to be sufficient for them to gain points to snuff out any hope of Kelantan to stay in the division.
PKNP will face PKNS FC (H), JDT (H), Selangor (H) and Kedah (A). Meanwhile Selangor has Terengganu as the last fixture on top of the aforementioned three matches.
As for KL, they have Negeri Sembilan (H) and JDT (A) after the Perak game.
It all points to officials and management of Kelantan and Negeri Sembilan to start planning for at least one season of Premier League football as the odds are heavily stacked against them escaping from the relegation zone.
