West Ham team news: Injuries, suspensions and line-up vs Leicester

Slaven Bilic's side will aim to recover from a morale-sapping defeat to Bournemouth as they prepare to welcome the Premier League champions

West Ham were remarkably poor as they were beaten 3-2 by AFC Bournemouth last week, and no respite will be forthcoming as they prepare to take on the Premier League champions this weekend.

Defoe handed England recall

Though Leicester City's Premier League form has dipped in recent weeks, they were fantastic in their 2-0 Champions League win over Sevilla in midweek and have momentum on their side.

The Foxes won the reverse fixture 1-0 through Islam Slimani's header in December, and Craig Shakespeare's men will hope to record a similar victory this time out.

WEST HAM INJURIES

Robert Snodgrass could miss the encounter, after admitting that he played through the pain barrier against Bournemouth.

"I twisted my ankle and stretched my ligaments but we only had defenders and a centre midfielder on the bench so you have to try to push through that pain barrier for your team-mates," he told reporters. "But I couldn’t really push off with any force."

Michail Antonio is also a slight injury doubt, after picking up a shoulder problem, but there is a hope that he will be fit, while he may also be included in Gareth Southgate's England squad for the upcoming games against Germany and Lithuania.

Angelo Ogbonna remains on the sidelines with a knee injury while Diafra Sakho and Gokhan Tore are long-term absentees.

WEST HAM SUSPENSIONS

West Ham do not currently have any players suspended and, as such, Slaven Bilic can subsequently pick the same team that played against Bournemouth, perhaps without the doubtful Snodgrass.

POTENTIAL WEST HAM LINE-UP

West Ham have not won any of their last four games but they are likely to continue with their 4-2-3-1 formation, though Mark Noble has faced calls to be dropped.

The Hammers captain has struggled for form in recent months and responded to dissenting fans by insisting that most supporters that attend games "don't really understand football".

Bilic will likely keep faith with his captain, however, and he is set to be partnered in midfield by Pedro Obiang.

Snodgrass' injury is unlikely to lead to a change in formation, though it may see Michail Antonio move into the middle of the pitch, with Sofiane Feghouli to move to the wing.

LEICESTER CITY TEAM NEWS

Following their victory over Sevilla, Leicester have the momentum needed to climb up the table.

The Foxes lie just three points behind 13th-placed Bournemouth, and a win would likely move them above the Cherries due to goal difference.

Ibra refuses to rule out Napoli

Nampalys Mendy is a doubt for the encounter with the Hammers, having missed the victory over the Spanish side due to a knee injury.

Craig Shakespeare is otherwise likely to pick the same team that beat the Spaniards in one of the most famous nights in the club's history.
