The Lorient forward is in London for his the Christmas break and took time out of his busy schedule to go and support countryman Christian Atsu, who began the game for Newcastle as they sought to end a seven-game winless streak.
Mesut Ozil's early strike was enough to win the day for Arsene Wenger's side, which extends the Magpies’ uninspiring run, as they continue to battle with relegation threats.
Majeed Waris was at the Emirates to throw his support behind countryman @ChristianAtsu20 and his Newcastle United, but a goal from @MesutOzil1088 gave @Arsenal the maximum points.
Is @warisgh10 also pushing for a deal in the Premier League this January? pic.twitter.com/YG2Do5jTkS — Evans Gyamera-Antwi (@ashesgyamera) December 17, 2017
Atsu has started Newcastle’s last two league games after suffered a thigh injury kept him out of action for almost six weeks.
He lasted 53 minutes on Saturday before he was replaced by Matt Ritchie. It is however unclear if Waris will be pushing for a deal to England after previously being linked with Stoke, Burnley, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace.
