The 31-year-old cannot boast a strike rate similar to Ibrahimovic, though, as he is now into his 11th season in the French top-flight – having previously graced the books at St Etienne and Lyon.

He is, however, well on course to better his personal best tally of 16 in a single season, with Gomis already up to 13 Ligue 1 goals for the current campaign.

Montellier just could not live with the former Swansea City striker at Stade Velodrome, with his predatory instincts giving him plenty of opportunity to air his trademark panther celebration.

Ibrahimovic, meanwhile, has taken his goalscoring exploits to the Premier League, with the Swede having already netted 19 times in all competitons for United this season.
