Toronto FC has equaled the LA Galaxy's long-standing MLS record for the most points in a single season, hitting the milestone with a 1-0 win over the Montreal Impact on Sunday.

At 20-5-8, Toronto has tied the 68-point total compiled by the LA Galaxy in 1998. It's worth noting, however, that the Galaxy played two fewer games than the 34 TFC will log this season, and LA only received a point for draws in which they also won the long since-disbanded postgame shootout.
TFC will have the opportunity to best that total next week, when the Supporters' Shield winners wrap the regular season with a trip to face Atlanta United.
