The Serbian has been confirmed as the Miners new technical director after parting ways with the Blues

Ashanti Gold have appointed former Berekum Chelsea coach Svetislav Tanasijevic as new technical director.

The Serbian, who vacated his role with the Blues last week despite having a year left on his contract, was brought on board to fill the vacant position following the reassignment of John Christiansen as Ashanti Gold's new coach following the sacking of C.K Akonnor.

“I have signed a one-year deal with Ashanti Gold and it is subjected to renewal after its expiration,” Tanasijevic told Shalom FM.

“I'm happy with the opportunity and will do my best to help the club to attain the necessary successes.

“I thank Berekum Chelsea for the first opportunity given to me in Ghana. My time with them gave me firsthand experience on how football in Ghana is and it's my hope to build on it in Obuasi," he added.

Tanasijevic has also been tasked to head the club's youth team.
