Thiago Cionek’s own goal gave the Teranga Lions a first half lead before Mbaye Niang doubled the lead for the Africans.

Despite Grzegorz Krychowiak reducing the deficit in the 86th minute, Aliou Cisse’s men held their nerves to secure a very vital victory.

As usual, football fans took to Twitter to celebrate Senegal’s commanding win against the Whites and Reds, with Demba Ba and Yannick Bolasie sharing thoughts.
