Pique slams jeering Real Madrid fans

Gerard Pique has taken aim at Real Madrid supporters, despite Barcelona’s elimination from the Champions League.

Who should Barcelona sell?

While Barca crashed out of the competition at the quarter-final stage, having been defeated 3-0 on aggregate, fans at Camp Nou applauded the side for their effort.

On the other hand, Pique seemed to note that some Real Madrid supporters chose to jeer their side as they required extra-time to see off Bayern Munich. Even Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored five of the six Madrid goals in the tie, was not exempt from the criticism.

Alluding to Madrid, the Spanish centre-back posted on Twitter: “It hurts (them) to see how Camp Nou applauds its team, despite being eliminated. They are used to criticism, despite going through.”

Pique has frequently caused controversy in his social media posts against his side’s Clasico rivals, with the latest incident occurring previously this week when he pointed out the refereeing decisions that helped Madrid progress

This prompted the ire of international team-mate Sergio Ramos, who suggested he “rewind and look back to the PSG game”.

Pique’s latest tweet is sure to receive similarly close scrutiny from those at the Bernabeu.
