Nottingham Forest v Leeds United Betting: Opportunities abound for goals at both ends

Nottingham Forest welcome Leeds United to the City Ground for what promises to be a captivating clash from the Championship on Saturday evening; an added dimension to this fixture is that midfielder Liam Bridcutt could make his league debut for the hosts, having joined Forest from Leeds in midweek.

Forest have made a solid start to the season, picking up nine points from their opening four league matches and Mark Warburton's men will be aiming to maintain momentum against the Whites this weekend; the hosts can be backed at 8/5 (2.60) with Genting to come out on top in this one - and Forest will be brimming with belief after knocking Newcastle United out of the League Cup with a thriling 3-2 victory after extra-time in Tyneside on Wednesday night.

Leeds have lost Chris Wood - last season's leading scorer in the Championship - to Burnley, but Thomas Christiansen's team showed that they are capable of finding the net without the New Zealand international as they fired five past Newport County in the League Cup on Tuesday night.

The Whites have yet to taste defeat, having won four and drawn two of their six matches so far this season, and there is  7/4 (2.75) that Leeds stretch their unbeaten streak in style with a win or  23/10 (3.30) that the away side settle for a share of the spoils from this match.

Forest's four league matches this season have produced no fewer than 14 goals - more than any other team in the top half of the division - with  4/6 (1.67) that there are goals at both ends when Leeds are the visitors and  17/20 (1.85) that there are at least three goals scored when these two rivals lock horns; that selection would have landed in each of Forest's last five matches in all competitions.

Leeds have kept a clean sheet in each of their last three Championship fixtures and Genting go 12/5 (3.40) that Christiansen's team keep Forest at bay, while there is  7/2 (4.50) that the Whites win without conceding - as they did when seeing off Sunderland last Saturday.

17/20 (1.85)  is available that there are fewer than three goals scored - a selection that would have landed in each of Leeds' last three league matches - while there is  1/10 (2.10)  for either side to fail to find the net may attract support.

Both of these teams, though, are in fine form and Saturday's meeting has plenty of potential to be an explosive encounter. There is  21/10 (3.10) that there are more than three goals in the game.

Better value, however, could lie in backing both teams to score in the first half of this game at a generous 3/1 (4.0) . Forest have scored before the break in each of their six competitive outings so far this season, while the visitors have notched in the opening half in each of the four games in which they have found the net thus far this term.

As such, Genting's 3/1 (4.0) quote for both defences to be breached before the break could represent good value for punters ahead of this Championship clash from the City Ground.
