The Spurs goalkeeper is nursing a thigh injury and will be absent on Sunday, with Michel Vorm set to step in in his place

Hugo Lloris will miss Tottenham's trip to Watford on Sunday with a thigh injury.

The Spurs captain featured in his side's 3-0 win at Manchester United on Monday, despite having been arrested and charged with drink-driving by the Metropolitan Police last week.

The French World Cup winner insisted after the win at Old Trafford that the result came at the "perfect time" after what he called a "tough week".

He said: "There are always some key moments in the season and I think this game came at the perfect time.

"It was a tough week, especially because of my mistake [his drink-driving charge] but I think the team showed [we are] strong.

"We showed again the togetherness in Tottenham and we made a great game against United. It is always a big challenge to come to Old Trafford to face United and this time we got the result that we wanted."

Lloris will not be available against Watford, however, as Tottenham look to protect their perfect start to the season against another side with a 100 per cent record.

The Frenchman has a thigh problem, while compatriot Moussa Sissoko is also out with a hamstring injury.

Erik Lamela is a doubt, also with a hamstring issue, but Victor Wanyama is back in full training.

The injury to Lloris should see Michel Vorm deputise, with the Netherlands goalkeeper last featuring in a competitive fixture for Spurs in the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester United.
